Disclaimer – I do not own Harry Potter in any way, shape or form.
Albus Dumbledore was an odd man to the end. He had a way of making a person think that he was insane – whether it was his words or the twinkle in his eye.
Yet there were times, deliberate times where he showed his intelligence, sanity and power. Very few ever have the privilege to see it.
Professor Dumbledore's ideas varied between comprehensible and obscene. Yet they all had a reason – even if they were verging on the edge of insane.
The way he went about things and spoke made it clear that he was learned in many things. He had spent much time getting acquainted with the magical arts. He also must have spent a lot of time getting to know about the people he was fighting for, which was clear by the way he spoke about how to deal with them.
Albus never lied if he could help it. But he knew how to talk to politicians, teachers and parents so they could see what he meant, and how what he was doing would be a good thing. He merely spun the positive light sometimes, and told them what they needed to hear, which shows how he got so far in the world!
He tried to hide his past, because some of it was rather unsavoury, but all of us make mistakes - and because of his position in this war, he would not be able to reveal some of his mishaps.
Unfortunately, because he was the only person V-Voldemort was afraid of and everyone else had the fear of capture of being a spy, Albus had no certain idea of whom he could trust enough to confide in. Due to this, he carried a heavy burden. Which he shouldered alone.
For now, may we relieve him of his burden, and let him rest well knowing he died while protecting the school and its students.
Farewell Albus Dumbledore.
