Please don't be too harsh with the reviews, this is my first fanfiction! And it's only a wee drabble but hopefully a prelude to something better!
For Heather – Sexy, intelligent, jewsih.
Harry hummed to himself as he strolled through one of the many corridors of Hogwarts. He always felt at peace here, he found the cold, stone walls strangely comforting, and at times they seemed to speak to him, telling the boy who lived that he belonged here, this was his home. This was his home, certainly not Privet Drive and the people here were his family. The Durselys were definitely not his family. This was home.
He wound his way through the maze-like corridors with ease; he was in his 5th year now, Hogwarts held few secrets he didn't know about. And if there were any, the Marauders map could reveal them. The once alien building now felt like a broken in shoe, comfortable and familiar. He made his way to the seventh floor and stopped outside the Gryfindor Common room.
"Password" Asked the fat lady. "Mumbling Manatee" Replied Harry contentedly. The painting swung forward in a sweeping arc allowing him to enter. If Hogwarts was his home, then this was his living room, he reasoned. And what a living room it was, several chairs circled a large and extravagant fireplace,Newspaper clippings and photos adorned a notice board and a spiraling staircase paved the way to the dormitories. The roaring fire sent heatwaves across Harry's face, giving him a tingling sensation. He let the warmth penetrate him. A nice change from the cold corridors he thought. He sunk into a chair and let out a relaxed sigh. If home is where the heart is, I must have a pretty good heart, he chuckled to himself. And so he fell asleep in the home he thought he'd never have and to dreams of the family he'd found for himself. His family.
