Uchiha Sasuke-kun: Hello faithful readers. Life seems to have caught up with me, but I hope this will make up for it. I'd like all of you to keep in mind that as you're imagining this story, it adds to the effect if you imagine black, white, and Greg tones, with the exception of the blood. And now, to the story!
Cold.
So cold.
Waking with a start, the girl sat up on the gurney.
She was...In a cold room with lots of cabinets in the wall. It was so cold, and she was chagrin to notice that she was so cold because she had no clothes on. Well, the room was frigid anyway, but having nothing to warm her body didn't exactly help the situation.
Looking down at herself, she noticed something...Off. Her body was blackened in small patches, and there was a large stitched-up wound from her throat to her abdomen. Getting up off of the gurney, she choked at the smell of disinfectant, and something else she couldn't name.
Feeling the cool tile beneath her feet startled her, and she hastily threw the sheet that had been covering her to wrap around her body. Was she in a hospital? She couldn't imagine anyone getting better in a ward so icy. There were no nurses making rounds, and as she explored her new surroundings, she noticed many other figures covered in starched white sheets. Odd indeed.
"Follow."
She was shocked at the whispered voice that seemed to be coming from inside her head.
"Wh-what?! Who's there?!" She shouted to an empty room.
It was then, she saw it.
A bright splotch of garish red trailing to the door. Was that blood, or...Well, she didn't know but that was creepy to think about. But, since she had no other course of action, other than to follow where it was leading her. Not unless she wanted to freeze to death, that is.
So follow it she did, and she left the room to find an empty hallway. She definitely seemed to be in a hospital. What she didn't notice, however, was that as she made her way down the deserted hallway, the door behind her shut. A door marked 'Morgue'.
Shuffling down the corridor, she reached a door that said 'patient records'. Maybe she could find out what had happened to her? Her mind was fuzzy. In fact, she didn't remember anything at all. Not her name, not her life, her family...Nothing. She suddenly saw a splotch of red on a file labeled 'Jane Doe'. It had a small envelope that held the burnt remains of what she supposed was her ID, and a few charred knickknacks. Damn. No luck here, either.
Suddenly, she heard footsteps, and she panicked. How could she explain what she was doing here in an employee access room, if she didn't even know what was going on?!
And so, she ran.
