The cold snow fell outside of Arkham City's gates. Police sirens rang through out the night. Police commissioner Jim Gordon anxiously waited to see when the Dark Knight would emerge from the mega prison. Finally, the gates open, and out comes the Dark Knight holding a body. As the tall figure approaches from the darkness, Gordon realizes instantly who the body is. It is the Jokers. Batman drops the body on a cop car, and goes off into the night without saying a word. He arrives into the bat cave an angrily removes his mask. He sits in front of his mega computer, and sits there lost in his thoughts. He can't believe that he is dead. Alfred walks in and asks him how he is, but the dark knight doesn't respond. He is still in shock. Alfred lifts him, and helps him to his room. He collapses on his bed, and passes out from exhaustion. He wakes up in the morning, having dreamed of the last moment with him. As he watches Alfred cook him breakfast, he asks himself what his new purpose is now that his arch nemesis is dead. But what he didn't know was that the Joker was alive this whole time, and that his greatest plan of all time was in the works. At that very moment, the walls surrounding Arkham city were crumbling, as bombs were placed days earlier, and in the morgue, the laughter that has struck fear in Gotham citizens' for years, echoed throughout the halls. The vibrations from the explosions reached Wayne Manor, and as soon as he felt it, a smirk came across his face. He knew who was behind it. He ran to the bat cave, put on his bat suit, and jetted into Gotham. As soon as he reached the center of Gotham, there he was. The Joker stood there in the middle, holding the detonation switch. "Nice to see you again Bats," he said with that all famous grin on his face. Batman knew what to do. He knew how detain him. As they both ran towards each other, it was cemented in each other's minds, that this was a never-ending cycle. This game of cat and dog would never end, and they both knew that this was a rivalry that was engraved in history, and that would define a battle between good versus evil forever.
