Hi everyone! I am loving the start of the new season and wanted to do a quick oneshot to provide some insight in Sam's thoughts in the scene where they are sitting on that couch. Please R&R!

Disclaimer: I do not own Rookie Blue (please tell me how to own my own Sam Swarek though!)

"So how do we start?" he asked her. Slowly, he turned his head and then finally, he looked at her. Looked straight into her eyes. Her heart skipped a beat, her gaze full of a mixture of apprehension, desperation and love. And then, he had to kiss her. As he leaned in and slowly closed the distance between them, he finally felt the tension that had been in his body for the last three months leave him.

Those three months had been three very, very long months. Of course, he had waited for so long for her, but after everything that had happened while he was undercover… He meant what he had told her earlier that day: all he wanted was her. After everything, he just could not believe she had run again. Yes, sure, there were rules. And yes, there were conditions to their suspension and yes, he loved being a cop. But he loved Andy more. And she? She made the decision to follow the damn rules! Even though he didn't really know where they stood, and a part of him wanted to act pissed of and ignore her, he went and picked her up at the airport. She had laughed at his "dummy" sign. Her laugh was something he wanted to hear every day. When she walked down that escalator, all tanned, and beautiful, all his anger melted away. But the doubt was still there. Sam didn't know if she was all in. He was. It was as if he had no choice in the matter; he was all in and there was nothing that could change that. But he needed a sign. A sign that she was all in too. And despite some pathetic attempt to exercise self-control and stay at home alone that evening, he had to go and see her. Her suitcases and that ridiculous oar she brought back with her the perfect excuse to stop by her appartment. He also made some half hearted attempt to leave straight away. But Andy had stopped him.

He smiled against her lips. Kissing her was what he was meant to be doing for the rest of his life. Making out with her on the couch like teenagers. In the past three months he had relived those moments in JD's cover appartment countless times. Kissing her, running her fingers through her soft brown hair, the feeling of her naked skin against his….

Sam put all his longing, frustration, but more than anything, all his love in their kiss. Andy pulled away when she required some much needed oxygen. "Wow…" she said, "I missed that. I missed you, so much". Sam looked at her and they were silent for a minute, just looking at each other. "So…" he cleared his throat, "was that a good way to start?". Andy's face broke into a huge smile. "Definitely!" she said. Sam chuckled, and leaned in to the side of her face, nibbled at her earlobe and whispered in her ear: "wait till you find out what I have planned next…".

The end…
