Chips

Hundreds of bodies pushed against their shoulders, jostling them on the busy London street. They stood side-by-side and watched the busy humans rush about their lives.

He looked down at her, and she looked back, wide-eyed and overwhelmed. She opened her mouth to speak, and he prepared to hear that she was done traveling; he'd be alone again.

They'd only just met, but he'd grown rather attached to this ape, so with heavy hearts, he put on a blank expression and braced himself.

"Do you smell chips?" she said.

He stared.

"I want chips."

He grinned happily.
