L sat at the computer, looking over the data of a case he worked on a while back for some unknown reason.
Beyond sat at a desk covered in a gooey red substance that looked like that of blood, and had the scent of strawberries. But it was strawberry jam. He scooped the jam out the jar and put it in his mouth. Beyond felt eyes on him.
It was L. Beyond looked from the jar, then to L. He held the jar out to L,
"I'm sorry. Would you like some?" He asked with bits of jelly still on his teeth.
L shook his head. "I don't like jelly. But thank you." He turned back to the computer. "Hmm... This case is a lot like the one I'm working on now..."
Beyond finished the last glob of jelly and licked his fingers clean. There was a red jelly stain on his white shirt, well, L's white shirt. He set the jar on the ground underneath his chair. He walked over to L and read over his shoulder.
"Beyond, this is top secret. You can't look at this." L said.
"How did you know I was right here, and how did you know I was reading?" Beyond asked, wrapping his arms around L's neck.
"Well I smelled the strawberry on your breath, and I know you were reading." L replied. "And get your arms off me. It's hot enough in here as it is."
Beyond ignored L's request and leaned his head on his back. L pushed him off his back, got up, and walked into the hallway.
"Miss, may I have one of those hotel books please?" He asked the maid outside the room.
"Yes sir." She said and turned with the book, and when she saw L, she was shocked. "Ryuzaki!" She yelled and threw her arms around him.
Beyond heard the commotion and peaked out the door and walked over. "What's going on here?"
"Oh. Hi... Ryuzaki, who's this?" The girl asked.
"This is Beyond..." He said awkwardly.
"Lawliet, who the hell is this girl.?" Beyond asked. He didnt need to ask, he could of course see her name, and life span above her head.
"Beyond, this is Misa. She's an old friend." L explained.
"Why did she hug you? Is she important to you?" He asked. His bright red eyes widened, studying the girls face.
"No. She's not." She told him. "Thank you Misa. I must be going in now. It was nice seeing you again. See you soon." L said, taking Beyond's hand and bringing him inside the room.
"Who was she? I don't like her." Beyond said clinching his teeth.
"Don't worry, Beyond. She's nobody important. Just an old friend." He said flipping through the book. "What do you want to eat?"
Beyond calmed down and lifted L's head, looked into his eyes, and kissed him on his lips. L could taste the sweet strawberry jam on his lips and his only instinct was to kiss him back.
"Mhmm... Don't like strawberry jam... Right..." Beyond said "Lets do sushi." He pointed to an add in the book for some sushi place.
"Hrmm.. Ok.." He responded with a slight blush.
Beyond smiled with his teeth showing bits of strawberry jam.
