Painting Buildings

Hitaru

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, but you don't either! P

Summary: Just a short reflection made by Sakura, because, in the end, they're all like Buildings, don't you agree?

Author Rambles: Man, this was in my head, I wrote it down, and now it's posted! It's super short, but, I like it, too. Yes, there is a pairing, but not my normal Naruto one (which is Gaara/Sakura) Neh, want to find out? Then read it, and then review it!

Now that she thought about it, he was a lot like everyone here. Like the regular Genin. Like a cool Jounin. Like a cold hearted ANBU. Like herself.

They were all like buildings in a city.

Sure, from afar, each looked great, and he was no exception, especially with those onyx colored eyes of his and perfect coal colored hair, but as one got closer, imperfections could and would, be spotted.

Cracks like his arrogance. Cracks like her vanity.

There were more of those spider-like breaches, but the fact that they were there in her-in him was enough to convince the maturing girl they weren't so different after all.

Or those stains, like that rust that appears on the side of her apartment. Stains, they had them too.

Brown as dried coffee, or red as blood, those stains were everywhere.

Stains, like his ambition, or stains like her denial.

They would always show. Always.

And, even those markings, those scars won't all disappear; she feels that other people, precious people, could be the paint. Paint that could make buildings, people that could make other people, better, more beautiful.

So, as she made her way from the training grounds and saw a boy cheerfully waving a farewell to an equally happy Hinata, who was most likely going to meet Kiba, she couldn't help but smile.

Everyone need paint; everyone with those stains, those cracks.

Even when she was just twelve with a naïve heart, she still felt that everyone needed that precious person, that special paint.

Even though she tried to be his paint, she forgot that she, herself, was in need of it.

And so, when the huge hearted ninja turned around and greeted her with the usual boom of "Sakura-chan!" she couldn't help but wave back like maniac, smiling and making her way towards him.

'Yes, she thought as Naruto started to inform her of his latest thrilling mission of how he single handily defeat about three dozen nins, 'we all need it.'

Kakashi-sensei needed it.

Tsunade-shishou needed it.

Ino-pig needed it.

Hell, even the so called Uchiha Sasuke needed it.

And so, when the Hidden Leaf's Number One Loudest Ninja finished off with his routinely plea for a date, Haruno Sakura accepted, much to the delight of Uzumaki Naruto.

After all, she needed the paint, too.
