Fury

The sun was blinding. White-yellow and piercing. As Clark took his first step out of the cave, he could feel the protection of the lead weakening and the strength of the kryptonite enveloping him. Although, there was no one to be found. But that was a good thing.

The same otherworldly power that gave him the strength to make it this far, kept him continuing on to Smallville, to his home, to Lois.

He was almost out of the kryptonite field when he saw a rush of black SUV'S and a silver Porsche speed by. Clark hid behind a brown boulder. He peered over the top and saw something that made his blood run cold and freeze.

Chloe was in the second car and Lex was right behind her.

As soon as his blood froze, it turned into flaming hot lava. He was infuriated. First Lois, then him and now Chloe. No. He couldn't return now, no matter how much he needed to see Lois. To let her know he was okay. To see if she was. To tell her he loved her. He needed to save Chloe.

Rooted to the spot, he had a brief moment in which he could not stay, he could not go.

But, as he turned around back towards the field, he knew he made the right choice.

There was no cave to take shelter in now. It was either save Chloe or die trying.

Ahh! Oliver groaned. He woke up on his back, staring at the ceiling fan, bleeding on the floor. It felt like his entire body was bruised and a few of his ribs may have been broken. As his vision un-blurred, he looked around the kitchen floor and saw one of Lois' legs by the kitchen chairs.

He got up too quickly and while stumbling, made his way to an un-conscious Lois lying sideways on the floor.

Lois! Lois! Wake up. Oliver said desperately.

It's moments like these that make Oliver wish he had Clark's x-ray vision. Does she have any broken bones? Is she breathing? Oliver could scarcely breath himself as his mind was racing, trying to decide what to do next.

Then, Lois opened her eyes.

Oliver had a huge grin on his face, a look of unmeasurable relief in his eyes.

But Lois' eyes held nothing but fury. First me, then Clark and now Chloe. No more, she thought. Never again, she decided.

Looking Oliver dead pan in his eyes she said, Let's go get them.
