Summary: Trish's thought on Harm being arrested for murder again!

A/N In case you couldn't tell I didn't care much for "Ice Queen" or "Meltdown". The episodes just left too many unanswered questions in my mind. This is my attempt to answer a few more of them. I took some creative liberties with Harm's childhood personality.

Feedback welcomed but not begged for.
My son is almost forty years old. You would think I could stop worrying about him right? Wrong. If anything I worry about him more now than I did when he was a kid. Why? Because my son is a Rabb. Being a Rabb gives me two reasons to continue to worry about my son.

The first reason has to do with the love of flying that all Rabb men seem to have. I'm convinced it's genetic. I know they never found a gene for it but it just has to be genetic. I mean Harm Senior's father wasn't around to teach him to fly and he loved to fly. And then Harm wasn't around much to teach my son about flying and he loves it.

The second reason kind of as to do with the first reason. Because of Harm's father going MIA when he was so young Harm feels the need to protect everybody around him. I'm not sure why he feels that need but he does. Frank thinks it comes from people telling Harm that he had to be the man of the house and take care of me now that his dad was gone.

What is that second reason you ask? He's always trying to protect people. That was why he was so nasty to Frank when we started dating. He was trying to protect me from Frank and he was trying to protect his father. He went to the farm to recuperate after his crash to protect me. He didn't want me to worry about him and how he was doing. Of course it didn't work, but I didn't tell him that. He didn't tell me about Sergei because he wanted to protect me. He thought I'd be upset to learn Harm Sr. had another relationship but I wasn't. Actually it was kind of comforting to know he moved on with his life. I just wish his son had been able to do it sooner. He hasn't told Mac he loves her because he wants to protect her from the "Rabb curse". That's what he calls that genetic love of flying. That's why he said "not yet" in Sydney. He figured he needed to make sure he was ready to give up flying so that the "Rabb curse" wouldn't be a concern anymore. Unfortunately his Marine doesn't have the experience I have in unraveling the mind of the male of the Rabb species, so she took not yet to mean not ever and he didn't correct her. He was still trying to protect her. He didn't understand that marrying the wrong man would be even worse than being made a widow. (It is amazing what you can learn from your child when they're drunk and hurting.)

That need to protect people is what's gotten him in trouble this time. He investigated Lt. Singer's pregnancy because he thought that Sergei might be the father. He didn't mention it to anyone to protect Sergei's reputation. When Singer didn't deny it he offered to adopt the baby to protect his niece and his brother. When Singer was found murdered and NCIS said she'd been dead two weeks, Harm didn't say anything to protect his brother. That's part of the reason NCIS thought he'd killed her. He would obviously do anything to protect those he cares about so that means he would kill for them right? Wrong but they don't know him like I know him.

God I hope he's right about Navy justice and he gets out of this mess. Once he's free I'm going to D.C. to see him, whether he likes it or not. While I'm there I'm going to set that child straight about a few things; like the difference between protecting someone you love and protecting yourself while hurting the one you love. Lord knows I'd like grandchildren before I'm too old to enjoy spoiling them!
