Prompt: Conflict
By the time Derek got into the bedroom, Penelope was in bed, the blankets wrapped around her. She'd rolled herself in them like a taco clearly stating that she would not be sharing with him tonight.
He didn't blame her because he knew he looked really bad right now.
He just wished she'd actually talk to him, or well, listen to him really.
"Pen," he said as he sat on the cold, blanket-free half of the bed, "Pen, would you please just listen?"
Cold silence answered him.
"Nothing happened with me and that woman. She was a part of the case and she was upset. I was trying to charm some information out of her, to help her, nothing else."
Still silence.
"JJ and Prentiss were just screwing with me. They don't know we're together, if they did they never would have even mentioned it."
She was still silent, but she turned toward him ever so slightly so he could now see her profile.
"I love you and I wasn't at all interested in that woman…or any other women…ever."
She turned completely towards him now, "Promise?"
"Swear, baby girl."
"And we can tell the team about us so they stop teasing about supposed other women?"
"Absolutely, tomorrow if you want."
She nodded, then sighed a little and lifted up the blanket, "Okay. You're forgiven."
He smiled and climbed in next to her, covering them both in the blanket.
"I love you, goddess."
"I love you too," she said, and kissed his cheek, "That's why I'm fully prepared to hurt you if you flirt with other women."
He kissed her forehead, "Understood."
