A/N: Ok so my 2nd Rexoka story, kinda trying to tie it in with some of my other Star Wars stories (Though mainly just We Can Never Be). Lemme know how it's gone, I love to hear feedback. George's stuff, lucky sod.

Duty

When my world is falling apart, I can turn to you.

But I shouldn't.

Duty. That's all the Jedi care about in this war. Duty!

We've both sworn an oath to the republic. We have a duty to honour and serve that oath and the republic.

You, you're a soldier – unfairly bred to die.

Me, I'm a Jedi – one not meant to have any attachments.

Though I can tell Master Obi-Wan Kenobi is in love with my Master. And my Master is in love with Senator Padmé Amidala. If it is fine for them, why not me?

Though you never told anyone what happened on Saleucemi, but I think I can guess.

You saw love, you saw family. It must have tempted you so much.

You seemed a changed man when you came back. You looked at me more often, I noticed.

There is no guarantee that this life is easy and that's when I look at you.

When I look at you, I see the truth.

You love me for who I am.

I see it in the way you act, your eyes

And I know I'm not alone.

Our relationship has changed so much since we first met. And I am thankful for that.

I know you think your love is unrequited. It isn't. Everybody needs a soulmate.

Cody pulled me aside once and told me, "He loves you, sir. Rex is in love with you. And you're breaking his heart being who you are."

But we must continue to be friends-in-love for the "greater good".

For kriffing duty.

A/N: Okay I know it's bad, but it was written in under 10 minutes. If you don't like it, build a bridge.
