This is the deleted scene from season 4's 'Trio'. I figured since it was deleted I could add onto it for all us Sam/Jack shippers. Maybe a little Ronon/Keller if you're lucky. Thanks to Spacegypsy1 for the once again appreciated beta.
It's Complicated
By Samvalasam
"Are you seeing anyone?" Colonel Sam Carter asked Doctor Jennifer Keller unexpectedly.
"What?" Jennifer choked in reply.
Sam clarified as she looked around to see if Rodney was listening in on the conversation, "On the base, are you seeing anyone?"
Not really wanting to answer, Jennifer replied softly, "Well, I kinda had a moment with ah…this guy, but he's kinda hard to read. So I guess the short answer is no…You?"
"Well I'm the boss, so I can't actually…"
"Right, of course. Anyone back home?"
"Um…" Sam bit back an answer.
"Yeah, thought so. Spill it," Jennifer was starting to like the fact that the conversation had gotten personal.
"Well it's complicated," Sam started.
"Tell me a relationship that isn't?" Jennifer agreed.
Sam was deciding how much she should say to her CMO, "Well he's in Washington, I'm here."
Jennifer sympathised with her, "Long distance relationship, huh?"
"Yeah, he's gonna retire soon, so who knows," Sam sighed.
Grinning Jennifer replied, "Really, retire? So an older man, huh?"
Sam stuttered a little at Jennifer's forwardness, "Well he's not that much older."
"Hmm…well let's see, older man; Washington. Is he a senator? Somebody famous?" Jennifer was still drawing blank looks from the Colonel, "Would I know him?"
There was a pregnant pause before Sam answered, "Probably not."
Jennifer wasn't going to let it go that easily, "Really, I heard there were rumours going around about you and General O'Neill."
Taken aback, Sam lowered her eyes to the ground for a moment before looking back up to see Jennifer still staring at her.
"I probably shouldn't tell you, and I should probably tell a few other people first."
Jennifer felt sorry for Sam, "I'm sorry, you don't gotta tell me, my mouth gets a little ahead of my brains sometimes."
Sam laughed at her comment, "That's something I'm very much used to; Jack is always getting into trouble about that."
Smiling, Jen asked, "So what is the deal with you two? There are too many rumours circulating for it not to be true."
"I'll tell you but you can't tell a soul," Sam warned.
"I swear, your secret's safe with me," Jennifer promised.
"Ok then. Here goes nothing. We were married just over three years ago in the smallest civil ceremony ever. We had to payoff our witnesses. It was about the time when he was transferred to the Pentagon and I was at Area 51. It was our only option. I loved him too much to not take the opportunity."
Jennifer was in a state of shock, how no one knew this was unbelievable.
"And no one knows?"
"No. Aside from General Hammond and now you, no one knows. Not even our old team mates."
"That must suck. Every girl deserves a proper wedding."
"Yes, well. Maybe after all this is said and done I may get that chance, but for now I'll just have to be patient and wait for the right time."
Jen smiled, "At least you have a man for you to theoretically go home to."
Sam put her hand on Jen's shoulder, "Ask him out, what's the worst thing Ronon could do?"
"What? I never said it was Ronon."
"You didn't have to. I have eyes. I saw the way you two were after the Quarantine fiasco."
"Ok. I'll ask him out, only if I can be a bridesmaid at your re-do wedding."
Grinning, Sam replied, "Deal!"
After their heart-to-heart discussion, the two women got back to work tying the ropes together at a much faster speed than they had originally started at.

Let me know what you think, I thought we needed that scene. At least now we have Sam/Jack confirmation. YAY!
