Chapter 1: Ambush
I've killed dozens of mercs, but this is different. Crouched behind a wall pinned down by a merc with a minigun, I waited patiently for the merc to reload. I didn't even know how many i was going up against; i went into vats and determined that there were four of them. I was still waiting when one came around the corner, i quickly pulled out my .44 magnum. He charged with a Chinese assault rifle. I rolled, bullets flying passed my head, and shot him in the knee, before he hit the ground i popped off another shot into his head. I listened... Silence, i peeked around the corner and a sniper rifle shot rang past my head, but not before i seen the position of the sniper and that the minigun merc was struggling to reload. I rolled out from behind the wall and popped two shots off at the sniper. One of my bullets hit him in the knee and the other blew his hand off. "I'll finish him off later." I thought to myself. I turned around and almost got beheaded by a merc with a Chinese officer's sword, "Shit!" i screamed and rolled to my left. He swung at me again as soon as i got up, i easily dodged, grabbed his hand, and stole his sword. He looked at me with disbelief as i stabbed him in his kidney and ripped up. He screamed in pain until I reach his lung. I let him drop, along with the sword, to the ground. I looked around, the minigun merc had almost got the minigun reloaded. I raised my magnum, squeezed the trigger, and nothing. It made an empty clicking sound. Perfect, i pulled out my combat knife and charged. He just got it reloaded while i was still ten Ft. away. I heard a familiar whining sound of a minigun starting up, I jumped and thrust my combat knife into his jugular vein. I sat there and watched him the few seconds it took him to bleed out. I quickly looted all the corpses and found a minigun, a Chinese officers sword, two Chinese assault rifles, 674 caps, and a laser pistol.
I walked to the wounded sniper,"Wh..who are y..you?" he managed to say in disbelief that I just killed all of his partners. "Me?" I asked "I'm your murderer and the murderer of any other damn merc that comes after me!", "You can't k...kill all of us. There's h..hundreds of t..talon company mercs." He spit at me. "Who sent you? Tell me!","N…Never!" ,"Really? We'll see." I put my foot on his wounded knee, he winced. "Are you sure?" I asked him, he shook his head yes. I put pressure on my foot, "Ahhhhhh!" he screamed in pain with tears in his eyes. " I can make the pain stop, just tell me who sent you." ,"Ok, ok. I'll tell you." I stared at him waiting for the answer. "Mr. Burke and Allistar Tenpenny sent us." ," Tenpenny? Why would that old geezer want me dead?", "I don't know. He s..said something about refusing t..to blow up me..Megaton" "Where's burke?" "L..Last I heard he was headed f..for a place called the republic of dave." " Wher…." I was cut off by the mercs head getting blown off. " What the fuck!" I yelled in anger. I looked in the direction of the shot, laying there repeatedly pulling the trigger of an empty .32 magnum was the merc who I stabbed in the kidney with his own sword. I ran over to him pulled my foot up and stomped on his head with all my might. His head exploded against the concrete. I sat there breathing hard and contemplating what I should do next, when a man in a security suit came out of nowhere. "What the fuck happened here?"
