The jar bubbled and foamed, looking deceptively innocent until you took into account the severed human hand that was calmly floating inside it. This, however, was old news to the Captain Jack Harkness, especially since he was the one who put it there in the first place. But as he sat there contemplating the hand in the bubbly jar, it occurred to the renowned (infamous?) leader of Torchwood that the hand might be a touch lonely floating in that jar all by itself. Once the thought had occurred to him, it became more and more unsettling until he had no choice but to do something about it. He raced off to the containment area and lugged out a metal cage, slightly bigger than a bread box. With the ease he applied to the undoing of all things, Jack opened the box and pulled out a large metal glove. Ignoring the 'not to be used' sign just as easily as the rest of the crew ignored the rules about removing alien tech from the base, he strode back to his jar hand with a smile.

Sitting down and placing the glove next to the hand, he waited. The hand bubbled, the glove glinted, and Jack got bored. Turning the glove slightly more towards the jar, a brilliant idea occurred to him and he jumped up and raced over to the consol, determined to select the perfect mood music. It only took a couple of clicks before he found it: Hand in Glove. Even Ianto would laugh at this one.

Incredibly disappointed that his brilliant idea occurred when on one was around to appreciate it, he turned back to his new pet project, coughing once, blinking twice before pitching his voice to a breathy falsetto.

"Hey there stranger. What brings you around these parts?"

He turned the hand around until it was palm to palm with the glove and shook it a little as he spoke.

"Well love, I was recently cut off from a close relationship, and I'm trying to reconnect with a new partner."

Jack barely held back a giggle at the stupid puns. With the help of his hands, the glove slid forwards a few centimeters closer to the jar.

"Well, maybe I can help you with that?" he spoke, pushing his voice up again. "I bet I can resurrect those old feelings..?"

The hand didn't get a chance for a cheesy retort (since Jack couldn't think of one) and instead they were smooshed together against the glass with the C.aptain accompanying them with little kissy noises. It was also at this point that Ianto entered the hub.

"May I ask what you are doing sir?"

Jack left glove and hand lying lifeless on the table and strode over to his well-dressed employee, circling his hands around his waist.

"Why don't I show you?"
