Another original Thomas story, this time it's "Green James" with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.

It was a springlike day on the Island of Sodor. The sun was shining, and the birds were chirping happily.

Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth Sheds.

"Today is St Patrick's Day." he announced. "We are having a special party tonight to celebrate the holiday."

The engines were excited.

"Percy, Henry and Emily are to help out with the festivities. Duck has also agreed to help out as well. The rest of you, are to be really useful and do your jobs for the rest of the day."

James was feeling very cross.

"It's not fair!" grumbled James. "Why does Percy get to help out with the festivities?"

"Because he's painted green." replied Thomas. "But even though he's your friend, you can't help him today."

James crossly puffed away.

All throughout the morning, James was still feeling cross over being left out of the festivities.

But then, an idea flew into James's funnel.

"If I get painted green, they'll let me be part of the festivities for sure!"

James puffed away to the Steam-Works.

Victor was surprised to see James at the Steam-Works.

"My friend, is there anything I can assist you with?"

"I want to be painted green!" exclaimed James.

"Why?" asked Victor.

"Because I want to help my friend Percy with the festivities."

Victor stopped to think for a second.

"Alright then." Said Victor. "We shall you have painted green in no-time."

James was delighted.

When the painters finished painting James, Victor came over.

"You look wonderful James!" he exclaimed.

James admired his shiny new coat of green.

He thought that everyone was going to like his new green paint.

But he was wrong. When he arrived at Knapford Station, the other green engines were cross.

"Why did you get repainted?" snorted Henry.

"Because I wanted to help you out!" replied James.

Percy was cross too.

"You shouldn't be here, green or not."

James felt depressed. He was expecting his friends to be pleased with him.

And when Sir Topham Hatt found out, he was not impressed.

"You have caused severe confusion! Being repainted was a very wrong thing to do on your behalf!"

James was locked in his shed as a punishment. He wondered if he would be let out again, but that's another story.
