It was Friday morning. Or so I hoped so. The air around me was stifling and the comforter around my waist wasn't making me feel any better. It was very scorching.
I opened my eyes to see the sun shining on my face. So that was the reason why I felt like I was being cooked alive. I rubbed my face and sat up. It was another boring day at school. I could already hear commotion coming from downstairs.
I walked out into the hallway with my uniform in my hands and headed to the bathroom. I was very thankful that it was vacant. I turned the knob and a spray of ice water, rained down on my already heated body.
I let out a string of curses and blamed one name that lay on the tip of my tongue,
"You damn rat!"
Just as I was getting out of the shower, the door opened. I stood in shock as the cow came into confined space and looked merely spaced out. He reached for the toilet and I smacked him upside the head,
"What the hell, Haru? Can't you see I'm using the bathroom first?"
The cow blinked as if seeing me for the first time, "Kyou? What are you? Why are you here?"
"What do you think I'm doing here? I'm taking a shower and going to school," I spat, pushing the cow outside of the room. Haru looked back at me,
"But, Kyou. When did you start living here?"
"Has the heat finally gone to your brain? I've been living here since Shishou left me here!" I shouted, scratching my head angrily.
"I thought you lived at Shigure-sensei's house . . ." Haru stated. I glared at him,
"And I am! I should be the one asking you what you're doing here!"
"This is . . . the Sohma Estate," Haru answered bluntly. I blinked. Then I blinked one more time. Then the color drained from my face and I turned away from the cow's face and weakly walked down the hallway, holding myself up against the wall. Further down the hall, I found Hatori coming out of one of the rooms and he stopped in his tracks, critically analyzing me with his one eye,
"Kyou?"
"Shit! This has to be a dream!" I screamed.
"Kyou?" Hatori wondered again, taking a step forward.
"Ahhh!"

"Ahhh!" I screamed, opening my eyes at the shock. I looked around to see the sun barely risen from the horizon and realized I was back in my room. I sighed, raising my hands to my face. That was scary, that was scary.
"Kyou?"
I stiffened and looked hesitantly over to my right side, where I found the cow waking up. My eyes widened with each passing second. This wasn't happening.
"Kitten?" the cow tried again.
". . . No . No . No . Noo . . ." I chanted.
"Kyou, what's wrong baby?"
I glared at the cow, "What did you say?"
"Baby, what's wrong? Nightmare?" the cow replied once again.
"A dream. It's just a dream. A dream inside a dream. Yeah, that's what this is . . ." I replied shakily.
I heard the cow beside me sigh, "Okay, no more desserts before bed. You're freaking me out, Kyou."
"I'm freaking you out? How about you? I wake up to find you in bed with me? How is that for a shock?" I cried. The cow sighed once more,
"I guess I deserve that. Look, I'm sorry but I swear there was nothing between me and Rin. You're the only one I love now. You're the only one that has my heart."
"Wh-What? You mean? You and me? We're . . . We're like that?" I sputtered.
"Kyou, stop it. You're scaring me," Haru pulled me into a hug. I swear I sat rigid at the contact.
"Ah . . . Ah . . . IT'S A DREAM!"
I closed my eyes tight, praying, chanting that this was all a dream, even though it wasn't.
