A small bird sits on a wall, watching all that is going on around him. People are all around him, some cheering and some crying.

A group of men are coming closer. The cheers and the cries grow louder and louder and the group draws near. Men in fancy dress are leading the group while three men are behind, carrying large wooden crosses. At least, that is what the bird heard it being called. A sweet smell passes the bird when the fancy dressed men walk by but it is immediately replaced by the smell of iron, blood. The three men following are bleeding profusely from their backs.

In the back of the line, a man falls from the weight of his cross. His hair is long and he appears to be the bloodiest of the three. A group of young men ran to the aide of the fallen man. He waived his arms at him, refusing their help. The group slowly backed away, looking very somber.

The fallen man climbed back to his feet and continued walking. The crowd filed in behind and together the whole group walked. The bird left his perch and followed along, curious as to where the people were going.

A while up the road, the crowd came to a large hill where the three crosses were laid on the ground. The three men were each laying on their crosses, with their arms spread out and legs crossed. The bird found a small tree nearby to land on.

The bird is looking around when it is startled by screams. Screams of agony and screams or horror. The little starling looks around until he finds the source of the noise. He cocks his head to the side in interest as the three men were having large nails driven into the hands and feet.

Once all three men were secured to their crosses, they were raised up on the hill. The man in the middle, the one that had fallen on the march to the hill, was in the middle. He had something on his head that reminded the bird of the nests that he liked to build. In the crowd, the bird continued to hear crying and sobbing but there was a new noise, a noise of

Several hours went by the bird was starting to lose interest. Suddenly, the bird heard the man in the middle cry out "My God, My God, Why have you forsaken Me?" and the crowd stirred and people ran around, then it all fell silent as the man took his last breath. The bird, realizing it was over, flew away.
