A/N: This was too good to pass up for me. It's like the Y&R answer to VM's first season finale question of, "Who's at the door?" And since canon won't give me what I want, I present this short, guaranteed-to-only-be-AU take.
Elle sat pouting as she looked back to her now silent disposable cell phone. So what if Adam had said that she wasn't supposed to call him? She never had been the greatest at following instructions like those. Especially not when she was bored and missing him and felt like he was taking too long.
Besides, she knew Victor. For all she knew Adam could have already been back in jail over who knew what because of The Mustache.
Though, really, she couldn't help but be a little excited at the thought of coming back to Genoa City. It was even better now that Adam had seemed to have finally kicked Sharon to the curb. She knew it would happen sooner or later. In her mind, Adam was made for her and only her. There was a mutual morally grayness between them and their methods. No more goody-two-shoes Adam that he could never maintain being. Now he was out for revenge again, and this time he seemed to be out for literal blood. And that, of course, was where she came into play.
Or would come into play, rather. Maintain a low profile, stay under the radar... Blah, blah, blah. And that crack about blowing through the money he had given her? Was it her fault a girl had needs? No. He's the one who had left her behind. Sure on an island that even Angela might not have been able to find her on, but that was beside the point.
She had heard the change even in Adam's voice, not just his words. Something big had happened. Well, that was obvious since she had seen online that Sharon was in jail, had been sentenced to thirty years and Adam wasn't lifting a finger to help her this time. Instead he had called her with extremely specific instructions and essentially told her she was coming back to Genoa City.
She had been a good girl, keeping quiet, not even injuring anyone lately, and doing most everything else Adam had told her to so no one would realize she was herself. Maybe if she was really lucky Adam would let her help him dish out the revenge of his dreams this time.
As she thought about it, she decided it had to be better than setting someone up for murder again. That had been so done, overdone. They needed a change. It was time for some people in Genoa City to stay dead. And Elle could only smile that the idea that Adam would let her make Victor the very first. After all, any enemy of her favorite toy's was automatically an enemy of hers. Okay, she hated him anyway, but still.
But first, she would have to wait. Wait for Adam's next call, for him to tell her exactly when she was going to get to come back to Genoa City and exactly what mischief she would be allowed to get up to that wouldn't put him in any worse binds than he might already be in.
The waiting was never fun. But knowing Adam wanted her there again, knowing she wouldn't have to fight for him, and that he might even let her play this time only had her grinning in her devilish delight of the many possibilities.
The End
