"I stood in his flat...I stood there...and all I could think was this isn't happening. Any second he's going to walk in with that calm, cold look on his face, either barking for a cigarette or to pick up that infernal violin." Lydia spoke, as she looked down to her lap where her daughter
Laid curled up, sleeping.
"I know what you mean." Lestrade agreed." I kinda miss the constant insults and belittling comments."
A brief chuckle escaped his lips but he felt guilty, sad, confused.
"John hasn't come back to the flat in weeks." Lydia sighed." And I can't seem to leave it. I talked to my mum and she agreed to let me stay and take over all his belongings. She said it was better that way...didn't think it should be empty or owned by someone who didn't know the significance of every bullet hole in the wall or all the stains on the floor from his experiments.I threw out some of them and boxed the rest but otherwise everything is kept the same."
"How has Lina been taking it?" He asked, sitting up in his office chair, looking to the little girl.
"She's asked for him a couple of times, but I just tell her "he's off on another mystery and is too busy to phone. How's Sally?"
He exhaled." She says she understands your sudden outburst because you're grieving. Then she started goin' on about..." He trailed off.
"I won't believe it." Lydia angrily." I know he didn't make all this up and everyone damn well knows that Jim Moriarty was on that roof and had shot himself! He wasn't some paid actor. Because I'v seen what he is capable of."
Wanting to change the subject, Lestrade leaned forward on his desk.
"What happened has happened, Lydia. Now please, go home and maybe have some tea or coffee. Or go do something that will get your mind off him."
She rolled her eyes in a way almost exactly like Sherlock used to.
" You must understand, Greg, I can't let this go until I find out what happened on that rooftop." She stroked Lina's hair while she spoke."Ya' know, everyone always went on and on about how Sherlock couldn't understand Love or compassion, that he didn't care. I believe...he cared too much."
Thanks for reading this is just a scene I wrote as like a beginning scene. I will write a story leading up to this and a prequel for it all. So if you might be interested please alert and patiently wait for the next chapter to start the story. :) thank you.
