Author's note: Well, here's a Runescape fic for you all. My username there is Kikixeni. Go ahead and add me if you like, but I'm very rarely on. Runescape does not belong to me.
At long last, here it was. Lumbridge, the city of his dreams. Here was where epic journeys began; where fierce warriors gathered; where legends were born. It was to this city that Ragna Atalanta, young and inexperienced, went to launch his career as an adventurer.
Before arriving in Lumbridge, Ragna sailed to the famous Tutorial Island, where he learned all the tricks that would help him survive in the dangerous world of Runescape. However, learning was not so easy. Lighting fires, baking bread, catching shrimp, killing rats; so much to learn in so little time. The others on the island didn't seem to struggle as much as Ragna. It was as though the trials were mere button-clicks to them. (Although, every single person burnt their shrimp when they tried to cook.)
Upon learning all there was to learn, Ragna was sent to Lumbridge. He now found himself surrounded by dozens of other new adventurers, in a grand castle courtyard. The courtyard was absolutely awe-inducing, with two sparkling water fountains on either side and a tall stone gate flanked by statues of heroic historical figures.
"One day, I'll be a hero." An earnest gleam shone in Ragna's eyes as he looked at the statues. "They'll build a monument to-"
"Dark Wizard919 wishes to trade with you."
"Huh?" He could have sworn someone spoke to him. Someone, but who? The courtyard was so crowded; people were practically standing atop one another; it was impossible to identify the source of the voice.
"Dark Wizard919 wishes to trade with you." The voice repeated itself, speaker out of sight.
"I-I'm sorry, but how?" Ragna asked in desperation.
"Click the words" With these words spoken, Ragna found the speaker, Dark Wizard919. He was a tall, fearsome old magician with ocean-blue robes.
Dark Wizard919 held out a steel sword and nodded. Ragna stared at him. "Accept" the magician said.
What exactly was Dark Wizard919 doing? Was he offering to give the sword to Ragna? How generous! "Many thanks, my good mage!" Ragna gushed, rushing forward to grasp the wizard's hand. He gave no response, but simply vanished into the crowd.
Well. Now he had two weapons. There was his new steel sword, and the bronze one he got on Tutorial Island. He couldn't use both at one time, so the best option was to deposit one at the bank. There the sword would safely wait until Ragna was ready to use it again. There was only one problem. He didn't know where the bank was. Better ask someone.
"Excuse me," he called, "but could someone please direct me to the nearest bank?"
Instantly, Dark Wizard919 was at his side again. "Folo" he said, and began to walk. Shrugging, Ragna followed.
They moved with surprising ease through the thick throng of people in the courtyard, and up the castle steps. "Are you sure we're allowed in here?" asked Ragna as they passed through the entrance.
"Ya" replied Dark Wizard919.
"But this is a royal castle! We are merely commoners!" He gasped. "Unless you are connected to the royal family?!"
Dark Wizard919 did not speak. Wow, royalty! Ragna thought, amazed. He followed the magician with wide eyes until he stopped.
"Here is the bank."
Ragna bowed. "Thank you once again, Oh generous mage."
"Yw." With that, he left.
Ragna made his deposit and exited the castle. As he stepped outside, the sun peered over the edge of a cloud, illuminating the courtyard and the people within under it's warm yellow light. Today was the bright beginning of Ragna Atalanta's new adventure.
