Romani's Childhood Crush
A young child went out after the darkness covered the farm. Her sister was already asleep, able to rest at last for the bandits had not come to steal their cows. Grasshopper had made sure that they would never return.
She waited, sitting on a fence, looking to the dark sky waiting for who she missed each day. And then… she saw him…
Shadows all around you as you surface from the dark
Emerging from the gentle grip of night's unfolding arms
Her eyes sparkled as she looked to the one who eased her heart. She stood up on the fence, with her red hair falling back and gently dancing in the gentle wind. A small hand set over her heart.
"I was waiting for you…" she whispered with the air.
Darkness, darkness everywhere, do you feel all alone?
The subtle grace of gravity, the heavy weight of stone
"You almost came down here against your will, but I would have been there for you." She reached out towards the one who captured her heart.
You don't see what you possess, a beauty calm and clear
"How I wish I could glow like you… Even Cremia sparkles more than Romani."
It floods the sky and blurs the darkness like a chandelier
All the light that you possess is skewed by lakes and seas
"All Romani can do is look up to you." Her eyes cast down to the soft green grass. "No matter how far you may be or how many tears you cry, I will keep looking to you."
The shattered surface, so imperfect, is all that you believe
"You think you're so broken… so hurt and scarred. You couldn't be more wrong about it." Her eyes raised back up.
I will bring a mirror, so silver, so exact
So precise and so pristine, a perfect pane of glass
I will set the mirror up to face the blackened sky
"I'll bring you a mirror so you can see how you really look!" She jumped off the fence and ran inside. She fumbled in her room, pushing her vanity mirror to the window. She sat on the sill and looked out. "See? You shine really bright." She sent a smile up to the moon. "And I'll put the mirror here each dusk, so you can see for yourself."
