Fear Is Not The Same As Pride
A Gallavich FanFiction
Even the Gallaghers have to be better than someone.
:-:
The Milkovich family play a very important role to the community on the Southside – no matter how bad things get, they ensure there is always someone to look down on.
For the Gallaghers they were a bit like a life raft – whatever scheme Frank was pulling, he would never be as fucked-up as Terry Milkovich.
Mickey, the youngest Milkovich son, couldn't help but take it personally – he knew respect would always be out of reach, and so from an early age he settled for fear instead.
He was just counting down the days until his first stint inside; he had no illusions that he would make it to 18 before getting acquainted with the inside of a cell. Hell, some days he didn't think he would make it to 18 before Terry put a bullet in his head.
The day Ian comes bursting into the Milkovich house with a tire-iron is the day he breaks the rules. Mickey looks so vulnerable stretched out on the bed, that for a moment Ian forgets he is supposed to be afraid and drops his guard. And having slept with him, he doesn't think he will ever be afraid of Mickey again.
Mickey doesn't have to suggest they keep it on the down low – Ian isn't exactly going to admit to falling in love with a Milkovich:
He has his pride after all.
