"Merry Christmas, Carl!" Frylock held out a small green-wrapped gift for the Aqua Teen's neighbor. Said man merely stared blankly at it, keeping his hands on his waist.
"What the hell is this?" He demanded.
"It's your Christmas present. From us." Frylock tried to sound enthusiastic. When that didn't work, he tried the smiling technique.
Carl still stared.
"Di- did he like it?" Meatwad asked, trying to whisper so Carl wouldn't hear.
"We don't know." Shake stated loudly, rolling his eyes and flopping back into his chair in submission to the TV.
"Shh, Shake." Frylock warned.
"Why be quiet?" Shake demanded, hardly taking his eyes off the TV to look at his roommate. "He can hear us anyway; he's not invisible."
"Be quiet, Shake." Frylock growled. Narrowing his eyes, he glared over at Master Shake's figure on the defunked piece of furniture. "Maybe he can't--"
"Oh I can hear you, Fry-man." Carl stated, obviously getting annoyed. "Now can we wrap this up? I think this house is trying to give me some kinda weird disease, or somethin'."
"Sure," Frylock noted off-hand. Stretching out his fries further, he tried to coax his neighbor into accepting it. "Take your Christmas present, Carl."
"It's fricken August."
"Well..." Frylock quickly tried to think of an excuse. "We... wanted to get a head-start on things this year. I mean, since... you know... we never got you anything for Christmas. Ever. So..." Stretching out his fries further, he shook it slowly and enticingly in front of Carl. "Take it."
Carl stepped back. "Again I ask you: what the hell is it?"
Frylock sighed heavily and tossed it moodily to the floor. "Just effin' take it. Or don't. Whatever." Levetating down the hall, he went into his bedroom and slammed the door. The only sound that could be heard following that was the TV spitting out old western movie soundbytes.
Meatwad rolled over to the present and poked at it while Shake ignored everything around him. Looking between Carl and the present he asked, "Is it edible?"
"How the hell should I know?" Carl growled.
"He'll eat it anyway." Shake warned.
"I will." Meatwad agreed. Fixing Carl with a stare for several minutes, he finished. "Cuz I don't know any better."
"Like hell I care." Carl muttered, leaving the house and its residents behind. Meanwhile, Meatwad looked longingly at the package until he was salivating. Finally, he muttered, "I'm eatin' it." before shoving it into his mouth.
FINITO.
