Fugitive
Author Note: Just a short Prompto Centric piece, mostly like on the alternate reality side, cosindering I know nothing about his past, except for the fact that he is a fugitive.
Disclaimer: I don't own Final Fantasy Versus XIII

"You're Tenebrean aren't you," a slight gruff voice utter. He supposes it was larger one out of the two he says that. His companion simply stares at him, a skinny guy really, with glasses present on his face, but much like his companion was dressed in dark colors.

"I suppose if you want to get technical, I would be considered as Tenebrean," he agrees half-heartedly, "But I sincerely doubt I would be welcome back there."

"You're a fugitive then," the guy with glasses remarks suspiciously, and most likely with distrust as well, but then again this country is known to distrust outsiders and other countries, they always keep to themselves, and he supposes some would say act like they better than everybody else.

It's one of the reasons why Tenebrae and other countries hate them so much especially when they requested for their help during the Cold War.

The hatred intensified when Tenebrae and its allies lost the war, losing their crystal to some insane warlord, but truthfully he tries to avoid politics between nations, and the politics within the country.

Mostly because he finds them boring and usually tunes them out whenever he hears his parents talking about politics.

"Have been for a year," he agrees, leaning against the stone wall of his prison cell.

"What was your crime," the more heavier but muscular man asks. He frowns lightly at that question, and truthfully he doesn't want to answer it.

But if answering it, means he can get out this dingy prison cell, and keep his life intact, he might as well.

"For killing a Tenebrean soldier," he answers, and realizing how badly probably sounded to his two integrators. It probably made it seem like he would betray any side if it benefits his cause. He sighs lightly, before continuing, "I was trying to protect somebody, but in the end the woman died anyway."

A vague understanding crosses both of the man's face, but thankfully neither of them bothered to ask more questions about the incident, because truthfully even he doesn't know the truth.

He just butted himself in because it seem like the woman needed help, but it was only latter he realizes the soldier was the woman's husband, and she was having an affair with some guy during the Cold War. He supposes it was out of pain, betrayal, and the concept his wife was sleeping with another man during his absence, while he is the one fought the enemy, putting his life on the line, never knowing if he would die the next day that caused the soldier to go crazy when that piece of information get dropped onto him when he finally comes home.

"Do you regret it," the man with glasses questions.

He hesitates lightly at the question, he is certain would tried to protect the woman again if he knew the information beforehand, simply because he is that type of person, always trying to help others, regardless of the situation. But on the other hand, his actions cause him to lose his younger sister.

"I regret it because the chances of seeing my younger sister again are very slim, but I don't regret the actions I took," he replies.

The man with glasses nods slightly, before murmuring something to his companion, and he slightly watches the two of them leave.

They return two days later, saying the prince may have a job for him, and despite the fact some may say he is betraying his country even more. He accepted the job proposal.
