The sun was shining bright, a warm summer day in Ohio in the great river city. Many families were gathered out in the park to have cook outs or just take the kids to the park. The young boy laughed as threw the ball to his comrade, a girl standing just a few yards from him. The girl smiled as she attempted to catch the ball, she picked up the ball and flung it back at the boy, a little harder than intended and knocked the boy off his feet. The children were being watched by Jodey, the girl's fourteen year old brother.

"Alex! Are you okay?!" The girl screamed, running to her friend's aid.

The boy coughed a little. "Yeah,… I'm alright." He rubbed the back of his head and sat up, setting the ball beside him.

The park around them grew silent, but the girl smiled at the boy "Hey Jodey, isn't he.." She looked behind her, seeking her older brother's comforting gaze. The teenage boy was nowhere to be seen, and the girl stood, slightly worried. "Where'd he go?"

Alex jumped to his feet and looked around himself, hoping to find his friend's missing brother "dunno…" he said putting his hands on his hips in a rather Peter Pan-like sort of way.

"C'mon, maybe he went to the play ground!" The girl smiled and started to walk, the boy followed.

"Terra!" the girl jumped at the sound of her brother's voice "Terra!… Ah no! Let go! Help me!"

She bit her lip and turned back in the direction of her brother's calls, the boy looked back as well. It was still silent as the pair studied their surroundings. Jodey was thrown from behind a grouping of bushes, he clawed helplessly at the ground, attempting to get away from whatever was dragging him "Terra! Somebody! Help me!" He screamed, digging his nails into the ground again before being dragged behind the bushes once more.

"Jodey!" The girl started to run towards her brother's screams but froze in her tracks when they were silenced after the sickening screech of the monster that had taken him. It was then that the park seemed to explode into chaos. Children, covered in blood, ran, screaming from the play ground, black creatures, ugly in appearance chased them. The two stood in horror, watching the scene around them, until one of the black creatures came charging at them, hissing, its tail flailing wildly. Terra screamed and squeezed her eyes shut as it neared and the hissing suddenly stopped, her face was wet.

Terra looked down at her hands, they were covered in a thick slimey green liquid. She looked back at Alex, who didn't seem to have stopped screaming, but what she saw made her shriek in terror, her friend was melting, his skin slowly falling off, revealing muscle, then even the muscle melting away to reveal quickly disintegrating bones. She started to back away, wanting to be as far away from the mess as possible. The girl heard a light clicking before she felt a sharp pain in her neck. She collapsed and stared up at the sky, three tall figures looked down at her, it was the last she saw before everything went black.
