Lullaby

Natsu and Lisanna

The rain pelted against the window as the storm raged on outside with the occasional strikes of lightening lighting up the room with white light for a brief moment before darkness took over once more.

Natsu glanced at the red lights of the alarm clock, 2:30 am. He let out a groan, knowing that he would probably not fall asleep again tonight.

"You okay?" Lisanna asked tiredly as she rolled over to face Natsu.

"I'm fine, sorry for waking you," the pink haired man said as he leaned his forehead against hers, humming quietly.

He hummed until she fell asleep, lying there, curled up next to him, her head buried in his neck, nuzzling his scarf. For what felt like forever, he just watched her, studied her, soaking in the sight of her, awed that she was here with him. His wife, the love of his life, and soon to be mother of his child.

Every memory he had of her, whether good, bad or ugly, flashed through his mind in rapid blur. He looked at the silver aired mage, grinning at the thought of all the memories he will soon share with her.

"Don't ever leave me again, I don't know if I could handle it," he whispered to her, his voice a plea.

Her response was a shift in her body. She moved closer, her arms wrapping around him loosely.

The Dragon Slayer smiled as he pulled her closer, wrapping his own arms around her.

.o.o.o.

"Natsu, breakfast is ready," Lisanna sung from the kitchen.

The Fairy Tail mage opened his eyes to face the clock, 7:30.

"Well, I guess I did fall asleep again," he mumbled, a small smile on his face.

"Did you hear me? Breakfast is ready," Lisanna asked as she poked her head around the corner.

"I heard, Lullaby," he responded, his signature grin plastered to his face.

"What?" Lisanna asked, confused as she walked into the bedroom.

"That's what you are to me, you're my Lullaby. So long as I have you in my arms, I will always be able to sleep well at night."

Lisanna smiled back at her husband. "Well, don't get use to it, because when this child comes, I'm putting you on night duty," she said, her own grin showing.

"Yes, dear," Natsu responded with a smile before jumping out of bed.
