It was dusk. The sun melted against the mountains in a beautiful orange, pink hue. A lone couple comfortably sat at the lake, watching the sun disappear into the star coated sky.

"What's your dream Serena?" asked a small raven-haired child.

"My dream?" the tiny child named Serena asked, drawing her attention away from the velvet sky, and onto her best friend.

"No dip wad! Your elbow! Yes your dream!"

The blond pondered for a minute, her pink toungue slightly poking out of her full, rose colored lips. "Is there even such a thing as a dream?" She curiously asked her friend.

"Of course there is such thing as a dream silly!" The burgundy eyed child laughed.

The blonde shook her head back and forth, blonde locks falling from her high pony-tail. "A wish maybe, but not a dream. A dream last through the eternity of a single night and then is consumed by a harsh nightmare called reality." she stated, closing her crystal clear blue eyes a moment before continuing.

"I have a wish. But, considering life isn't a fairy tale, I honestly doubt it will be granted. So what's the point of having it at all? If all it will be doing is gathering dust of the fates bookshelves." Serena whispered, her head down cast, looking at the silvery moons reflection in the depths of the lake.

"Please," The other child, known as Rei begged, tugging on her friends shirt. " Please tell me."

"My wish," Serena began looking back up at the bright diamond like stars in the sky, "Is for life to be like a perfect picture. For everything to be wonderful, people to be dangerously happy, animals to frolic like there's not tomorrow, and like to stay that way, always and forever."

"That's so bea...." Rei began but was interrupted by Serena.

"Dreams and wishes aren't always as they seem Rei. Even the most perfect pictures have a brush stroke that doesn't belong, but it just blends in with the beauty surrounding it." Serena said, looking at Rei for a second before bowing her small head down to look at the green floor dotted with specks of dirt. "Then, there are those gruesomely horrible pictures of death, pain and suffering and no matter how many times I've seen them, it always seems to bring a silky tear from the depths of my eyes."

Rei looked a her truest friend and smiled. She never knew there was such a passionate creature under her clumsy, happy exterior. She realized at that moment that Serena was not just put on this wonderful planet to decorate it with a beautiful face. Serena had a purpose in life. She was put here for a reason, and Rei was determined to help her friend find her cause and succeed. "You're something special." Rei said pulling Serena in for a tight hug. "You're something special."
