Yu-Gi-Oh: Gods and Demons, Chapter 1, Birthday demise
"And remember class, complete page 276 of your textbook and answer all the questions. Homework is due tomorrow. Class dismissed!" said Proffesor Mogamet. "Another day at school, another set of homework. Wonderful!" Rema muttered under her breath, her brother Yugi, smiled and said into her ear, "you really are busy tonight". "Speak for yourself, besides I've got to study my thesis for an upcoming exam", she replied as they stepped out of the room.
They were about to turn right when suddenly, Tea came running towards them her backpack bouncing on her shoulders. She hurtled herself into Yugi's arms. "Happy 18th Birthday Yugi!", she exclaimed and turned to hug Rema, "Happy Birthday Rema!"
"Aww, thanks Tea", Rema replied, the corners of her mouth formed a smile, the Crown of the Gods glistening on her head.
"Here I brought you guys a little something...", Tea said and dug her hand inside the pocket of her jacket. She pulled out two necklaces one silver and one gold. Yugi looked at them,"are these cartouches with our names imprinted on them in hieroglyphs?", he asked. "You betcha!", Tea exclaimed and handed the cartouches, "the gold one is yours Rema". "Oh, thanks Tea...hey have you seen Joey and Tristan lately?", Rema asked. "No I haven't. Why?", Tea replied. "It's just that they didnt show up to class today", she said and turned to Yugi, "hey, can you call Joey's cellphone and see if he picks up?". "Sure thing, won't be long", Yugi replied and dialed in Joey's number. He gave Rema and Tea a quick glance before turning and walking away, his phone to his ear.
Rema sighed. "Is something wrong, Rema?", Tea asked and placed her hand on Rema's shoulder. "It's just that I've-oh forget it", she replied and gave Tea a slight smile, "It's nothing Tea just forget that I said-".
"REMA! TEA! GO, RUN!", Yugi cried out running towards them.
"What!? why!?", Rema asked but before she could say anything else she was flung against the wall...
