Yes it's another story about what actually happened in Threads! I have no idea if its the same room but it looks the same so why not?

They aren't mine and I dont make any money from this

He walked quietly into the observation room where Sam was sitting lost in thought, looking down into the now empty room below.

Silently Jack sat down beside her and she turned to look at him, her eyes were red but she wasn't crying for the moment.

'Still doing ok?' Jack asked softly looking at her in concern.

Sam nodded, ducking her head for a moment before looking back up at him.

'Actually I was just thinking…, I was just thinking about what else this room has been used for.'

*

'Sir…none of this has to leave the room,'

'You're ok with that?'

'Yes…sir'

*

Jack knew immediately what she was referring to; this was the room where they'd first admitted their feelings for each other. The same room where they'd decided the course of their lives for the past four years.

'I was thinking about how different everything could have been'

The tears in her eyes finally began to fall and she turned away from him, embarrassed to let him see her like this. But Jack pulled her back towards him and wrapped his arms around her holding her tightly. Since Kerry had come and visited him he'd been doing quite a lot of thinking himself. And now they were back in the room. After a few moments Sam pulled back slightly. She opened her mouth to speak but the words flew from her mind when she met his eyes.

Neither one could tell who moved first but they were kissing. Sam knew that she was engaged, Jack was with Kerry now, her dad had just died but right at that moment all she could feel was Jacks lips on hers and his hands roaming her body and all she could think was 'this is right!' All the pain from loosing her father and the doubts she had about her wedding were disappearing in the heat of his mouth.

The kiss broke as they both pulled back and sat, breathing hard, surprised at how the kiss had gotten so intense in such a short time.

Jack was the first to speak, 'I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that, you – you're with Pete and your dad just died for crying out loud, you're upset and…'

'Sir…Jack, don't. Don't be sorry, I'm not'

They both stared at their hands for a long time neither one sure what there was to say next. Both knew what they wanted but could they be brave enough after all this time to open up?

'I broke up with Kerry,' blurted Jack looking up again. He knew it wasn't fair to her, she had a fiancé and he had no right to ruin their relationship but she had called him Jack, she had said she wasn't sorry, perhaps there was hope.

'Could it work?' Sam was still staring at her lap, her voice unsure.

'Yes. It has to. I can't spend another four years keeping it in this room Carter,'

'Sam,' she said in a small voice.

'Huh?'

'My name is Sam.'

Finally she looked up, her face determined

'I guess I'd better speak to Pete then.'

And that was it, dropping a final chaste kiss on his lips Sam stood and left.

Jack sat staring after her until a small smile formed on his face. Standing himself he walked up to his office – he had lots of phone calls to make but it would all work somehow in the end.

So how was it...?
