'He's gone…They all left; Tetsu, sensei….all gone…'

"What's wrong with that boy? He's not native... look at that bundle he holds. All bloody, dirty and smelly… Hey! Go away! That thing that you're holding, take it away too! Don't wander here!"

Wind swept through the streets, swallowing up anyone who dared to venture out in the midst of the cold. There was one such person. A lone figure, wearing nothing but a thin piece of rag barely enough to cover up his cold shivers. Against the cold cruel wind, he was a doomed loser.

'Sensei… we're going home now…there's no place for us here. Please bring me away from here. Let's stop fighting, go somewhere where they won't know us. Start afresh, live our life…'

The wind carried his sacred whispers away to heaven, no- hell… to his beloved sensei...They carried away with them too, his soul, spirit. As his life drained slowly away from him, he kept walking…

Blood stained his new bright blue uniform. He hadn't expected it to be like that. He thought that it would cure his pain, give him courage. He had thought that the reality and truth of pain and death would put a final to his inner torment…

But the truth only made it all the more worse…

'I killed…'

Tears flowed silently down his face…A man should not cry, they had told him. They also told him that he was brave, but his bravery was boldly shameful to him.

To his brother's disappointed but concerned glance, he could only shy away. He remembered how it was before, when the reality of his parent's death sunk in… His brother had mourned with him, gave him comfort… now, he stood alone.

Unable to handle the cruel well wishes of others, tetsu turned to wander the streets for some solace that the cold winds can bring…

"Please rain…" tetsu prayed. "Let it wash away my sins…"

Once again, tetsu cannot help, but be overcome by his guilt. Painful tears found their way out of his eyes. His prayer was answered: it started to pour heavily. Tears mixed with rain, flowed down his young cheeks. The bitter mixture dripping into his mouth, choking him… Not that he cared…

"We can no longer be friends…"

Two figures approached at the cross of the streets. So similar were their silhouette, one can almost mistake them as mirror images if not for their contrasting hair color and position. Both enveloped in darkness and grief; both alone in the crowded world, nobody to turn to…yet…

Gasp.

"Suzu…"

Chocolate brown eyes met black. A short moment of silence passed before tetsu noticed the bundle in his mate's arms.

"Suzu. I'm sorry, I truly am…please…forgive me…Suzu…"

He had not replied. Simply untangled himself from tetsu, who had fallen in front of him, kneeling for forgiveness, and walked on. Carrying on, sure of his way, but unsure of his destination…

'He has nothing left. Nothing left…'

Nothing left…
