He doesn't want to do it. More than anything he wants to say no to those keening eyes, to her bowed lips opened in silent plea. He wishes nothing more than to walk away and never look back, pretend he never heard of Elizabeth Swann.
He knows he could never do it: make a decision that would lead him far from her, unable to kiss her, to hold her and be near to her.
He doesn't want to say yes. He doesn't want to go save Jack Sparrow.
But he will, just so he can take her in his arms.
