Until My Eyes Can See You
Nunnally has never seen Suzaku.
Even before arriving to the Kururugi shrine, Nunnally's eyes had been shut from the world. She had to rely on her memories for how the world looked. For the color of the trees and the sky. For her brothers face. For his amethyst eyes that she loved so much.
Suzaku didn't exist in her memory. She only knew his voice and his hands. Nothing else.
She often wondered what he looked like. Did he have blonde hair? Or maybe black like Lelouch's? What color where his eyes?
Deciding not to guess anymore, she asked her brother what Suzaku looked like. A brunette with messy, curly hair. With eyes as beautiful as emeralds. And with a body built a lot stronger than Lelouch's.
Nunnally had to imagine.

When Nunnally finally opened her eyes during the Zero Requiem, she saw the world that her memories showed her and more. The world had changed, her brother had changed. Her brother's amethyst eyes that she loved so much were not the same.
During the Requiem, Suzaku had died. When Nunnally was finally able to open her eyes, he was dead. She would never be able to see the beautiful emeralds her brother had described.
All hope was not lost however.
For so long, Nunnally had longed for the day she could see Suzaku with her eyes and she finally did. Upon gaining possession of an Ashford Academy photo album, she recognized right away who Suzaku was. For his messy, brown curls and his eyes. Her brother was right; his eyes were as beautiful as emeralds.
Nunnally didn't have to imagine anymore.
