Moon Child
Before the curse of darkness was casted upon the land
a young woman struggled with the fate of a curse of her
own for she was born as a child of the moon. During the
day she was an ordinary girl whose heart belonged to a
handsome lad of her village and careful she would be to
sneak out of her home to spend time with him. She shared
a cottage with the woman she called granny who became
her guardian since birth. Around the house she would help
with chores such as fetch eggs from the hen house, deliver
fruit baskets to neighbors, and help Granny guard the home
from the beast that would ravage the village for blood.
Yet one fateful night while sneaking out with the man she
loved, she would discover a horrible secret that would tear
her away from the life she knew. The moon was full, noise
was going around that a wolf was terrorizing the village, and
Granny warned the girl to stay in the house no matter what
happens. The rebellious teen inside would take over as she
would quietly sneak away in search of the deadly beast on
her own accord. While sitting by a campfire, with the thought
of not only herself, but also her lover that he was the wolf
she would tie him to a tree with strong rope to keep him safe.
Unaware the true beast lived within her soul; the girl would
turn from a beautiful innocent angel into a bloodthirsty wolf
with a deep hunger for human flesh. Unable to control her
hunger, the wolf would tear her helpless lover limb from limb
satisfying her thirst for blood.
Suddenly the wolf would be surrounded with darkness in the
form of a cloak of red which would turn her back to her human
self. Comforted by the warm hood, but unaware of the carnage
she created she would look into the eyes of her granny with fear
and confusion. Finally laying her eyes upon the strewn body of
her lover, her heart would shatter and she would learn her darkest
secret from the lips of the one who took care of her since birth.
Shocked to learn that she is the wolf, she turns to her granny for
answers. All that she reveals is that the girl needs to run from those
who came to kill the wolf. With reluctance the young woman would
flee, but she will not travel alone for she would be accompanied by
the fair princess Snow White who would become her closest friend
on her journey of self-discovery.
