— Prologue: What does it all mean?

POV: Markiplier

An old style TV crackles to life and a picture of a smiling, redhead animatronic with pigtails and a microphone appears as a circus ringleader-like voice starts talking. "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, are you eager for a circus experience at your next party? We at Circus Baby's Carnival Rentals and Entertainment can provide that! Laugh along with Funtime Freddy and his friend Bon-Bon! Dance with Ballora the Ballerina and her Minirinas! Enjoy the crazy antics of Funtime Foxy! Sing along with Circus Baby and her Bidybab pals! But wait! That's not all we have in store for you! Circus Baby has brought three new friends to her circus: Funtime J, the bot of all trades whose magic tricks will have you cheering encore, Funtime Dæ, the best concessions animatronic in the world, and Funtime Clockworks, the Steampunk Scientist whose experiments are so kid-friendly, you're allowed to try them at home! Call today to bring Circus Baby and friends to your next celebration!" The screen flashes, then starts repeating the ad. A man's hand reaches over and lowers the volume as a light clicks on, illuminating a cork board. The man sighs and stares at the board, which is covered with pictures and pieces of colored paper with questions on them connected by strings, all of which eventually converge on a single question in the center: What does it all mean? "Three years. Three years and not a single one of these questions have been answered yet," the man says wearily, looking at a paper that has the question: Why do people say the storage complex looks more like an army bunker? "Right. No more delays. Time to look for answers at the source." The next night, the man enters an elevator and straightens his new Circus Baby's Carnival Rentals and Entertainment repairman uniform. As the door closes, the moonlight catches his name tag which reads... Markiplier.
