Jessica Wakefield was in many ways selfish. She wanted what she wanted when she wanted it. She did not like Trica, her older brother's girlfriend. There was something about Trica she didn't trust. That girl was too good. She had never once gotten in any kind of trouble. Jessica did love her brother and her sister.
"Do you really think you're telling me something I don't know," Jessica heard Steven say to Elizabeth as she walked into the room.
"Hey you guys," Jessica said sitting down next to her brother.
"Hey Jess," Steven said.
"Can we go to dinner together tonight," Jessica asked her brother.
She hadn't spent alone time with her brother in awhile.
"Sure," Steven said.
Just then Jessica's phone rang.
"Hello?"
She paused and she had an annoyed look at his face.
"And I'm the only one," she asked with a sigh.
Trica had lukemia and without a bone marrow transplant she would die within months.
"Yeah whatever I'll do it," Jessica said and hung up.
"What was that about," Steven asked.
"I'm a match," Jessica said.
"Really? You look like Jessica," Steven teased.
"You know you might be the best of the best but your sense of humor could use a lot of work," Jessica teased back.
Steven rolled his eyes.
"What are you a match for," Steven asked Jessica.
"My bone marrow matches Trica's," Jessica said running a hand through her hair, "That was my boss at my volenteer job who called to tell me."
"Are you going to give it to her," Steven pleaded
Jessica looked annoyed.
"Of course I'm going to give it to her," Jessica said, "You're my brother and you know what we may not always get along all the time. We may not agree on everything and I may not like her but I love you. I will always be there for you just like you've always been there for me"
"Thank you Jessica," Steven said hugging her, "You're a good friend"
