The Doctor opened the door happily.
"Welcome," he said, "to Olympus Three."
Out of the TARDIS stepped Rose, Donna, and Martha tentatively. Seeing their surroundings, Donna was the first to speak.
"Looks like a bloody wasteland," she commented dryly; the Doctor rolled his eyes as Rose and Martha nodded. They were surrounded on all sides by sand and stone.
"Just like him to drag us to planet Utah," Martha sighed, and Rose laughed. The Doctor looked offended, and the blond girl threw her arms about his waist.
"Oh, come on," she said gently. "We're just joking. There's nothing wrong with Utah."
"I like Utah," the Doctor murmured before shrugging Rose off excitedly. "Wait a minute, wait a minute-here's something!"
As he walked towards it, all three of the women's gazes became transfixed upon it with a sudden lust.
"Fancy that, an apple," he said, plucking it from the ground and looking at it happily. "Who knows, might be my lucky-"
"Give it to me," Rose said suddenly, and he looked up in surprise, clutching the apple closer to his chest protectively.
"Naw, I think I want it," he said before Martha spoke.
"You don't want to give it to her," she said-it took a few moments for the inept Doctor to realize she sounded seductive. "Give that apple to me, pretty please?"
"I want it," Donna said, her voice unusually enunciative. Where it had taken the Doctor a while to understand the look in Martha's eyes, what was happening dawned upon him immediately.
"Aw, course!" he exclaimed. "Olympus Three, home of the myths! This is just Paris having to decide to whom to give the apple, Hera, Aphrodite, or Athena!"
"You're a very quick thinker," Donna said. "Give the apple to me, and we can unravel the mysteries of time and-"
"This is just brilliant," the doctor said in amazement. "It's like the apple's generating a field that implanting the script of a play into our minds-me being a Time Lord, I'm of course difficult to corrupt-"
"Come on, gorgeous," Martha said. "Give me the apple! I'll have a surprise a million times more delicious for you if you-"
"-I wonder if it's a magnetic sort of field, or just brain wave manipulators-" The Doctor ran his sonic screwdriver across the apple curiously, almost completely ignoring the women. "Aw, yes, brain-"
"Give me the apple, Doctor," Rose commanded. "I can give you power over all the stars and heavens-"
"Have that, thanks-could you keep it down, loves?" he asked. "Man at work. Yes, so…apple's just an apple, of course, but the brain wave manipulator is sort of wired through it from the core. But if I remove a bit of it-"
The Doctor looked from the girls to the apple, and cocked his head to the side thoughtfully. "Trouble with that Paris chap, he's no Prometheus. 'Fore-thinker,' I mean. He saw one and only one way out of his decision: appeasing a goddess. I, on the other hand, see no reason to appease anyone but me."
With that he took a large, loud bite from the apple, and the three girls shook suddenly before looking about in confusion.
"Oi, what just happened?" Rose asked.
The Doctor shrugged, taking another bite from the apple. "Oh, nothing. Just an alien brain wave manipulator playing tricks on you."
