Author's Note: Hello, this is my first fanfiction! So, I hope you guys like it!
By the way, this is Erza x Jellal so if you don't like this pairing, don't read it.
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail or any of its characters. They belong to Hiro Mashima.!
When Jellal wished for freedom, this was definitely not what he meant.
To Jellal, walking around Magnolia with a stamp on his hand preventing him from using magic was certainly not freedom. Yet, it was a nice change from the cold, hard, cobblestone wall of his prison cell. At least he could see the blinding rays of the sun, the beautiful flowers in the garden and, he blushed, Erza.
It was the color of your hair. They were the last words he said to her. Those seven words were what kept him going all this time. The reason he survived. And now, he was buying her a present. A tiny, pitiful present! She had done so much for him and all he was getting her was a stupid present. At first, he had thought of surprising her at her room, although that would surely end up with Erza beating the crap out of him. He thought of giving her a bottle of champagne but drunk Erza was horrifying; he had heard stories in prison, he shuddered at the thought. So the only reasonable and apparently non-fatal way to thank her with was to give her a present — the likes of which would definitely surprise the hell out of her.
Erza walked into her room at Fairy Hills. The day had gone as usual: Elfman went on and on about 'real men', Cana went about with her giant barrel of booze, drinking to her drunken heart's fill, Natsu and Gray debated on who was stronger, which resulted in the guild being incinerated and frozen repeatedly. The moment ended immediately after Erza knocked their two numb-skull heads together. Erza chuckled at the thought.
The refreshing smell of her of her air freshener greeted her as she went in. She noticed something foreign on the floor: a red box. As she picked it up curiously, she read the curling script written on a letter attached to the box.
It read:
Just because, Jellal
Erza dropped the box instantly, poking at it with her sword as if it was a monster rearing to attack. Jellal! That Jellal! Then, she noticed something white, fluffy, with a cherry on top. Cake! Her face lit up instantly, retaining an almost childish smile as she picked up the diabetic desert. She licked her lips in delight as she prepared a plate and a fork. Just then, she noticed something else, something sparkly. Gingerly, she picked the box up and slowly moved the lid away. What she saw dazzled her. It was a necklace, a beautiful one at that. It was similar to Gray's, except instead of a small, metal sword, a small ruby sword dangled out. It was vividly colored with a pinkish-reddish tint in the middle.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized what it meant.
