Author's Note: I've recently started watching the show, and I'm currently on season seven. I noticed some tension between Mic/Renee that I thought should have been explored more, even though I disliked both characters.

They run into each other years later – She's widowed and has two daughters and he's in town working a case.

"So how are you?" Mic asks Renee. He hasn't seen her since he cancelled his and Sarah's wedding all those years ago.

"Great. So how are you?" Renee is glad to run into the Australian. He was a friend when they were both insecure about Harm and Mac.

"I'm good. Have you seen Harm and Sarah at all?" Mic is curious about that. He ran into them when they were visiting Bud and Harriet two days ago.

Renee shook her head. "I haven't seen them in a long timel." She wonders what they're up to now.

"They're married and she's pregnant with their second child," Mic explains to her. He wasn't surprised at all when he found out. Harm and Sarah are meant to be together. It was obvious to everyone around them.

"Good for them!" Renee truly means it. She doesn't regret breaking up with Harm. He belonged with Mac.

"You want to go out to lunch?" Mic would love to find out what she's been up to for the past few years.

"Sure! Let's go," Renee agrees. She and Mic head across the street to a pizza place that wasn't there the last time they knew each other.

"So tell me about your life," Mic urges after they sit down and order.

"Well, I married my ex-boyfriend, a mortician. We have two daughters together – Laci and Rachel, and he died about a year and a half ago. Laci, Rachel, and I recently moved back here. We wanted a fresh start." Renee smiles. She misses her husband every day, but she's finally starting to move on.

"I'm sorry about your husband. Since breaking up with Sarah, I've been involved in serious relationship. I'm still a lawyer. I'm only here because of a client," Mic explains to her.

"Thank you. It's been hard, but at least I still have the girls. How long are you here for, Mic?" Renee doesn't know why she's interested in his life.

"As long as it takes," he answers. The two talk for a few hours, until it's time for Renee to pick up her daughters from school.

Renee invites Mic over to her house for dinner. Laci and Rachel take to the Australian immediately and won't stop talking to him.

Renee and Mic tell each other all about the past few years that night, when the girls are watching TV. It's obvious to Renee's daughters that they like each other. It's Laci that decides that the two should be together. She misses her father, but Mic seems to be perfect for her and Rachel's mother.

Six months after they run into each other, Renee and her daughters move to Australia to be closer to Mic. She had fallen head over heels in love with the lawyer and vice versa.

Two years later, the Rabbs receive an invite to Mic and Renee's wedding. They're surprised by the news, but fly to Australia with their son and daughter to attend.

The Rabbs are named the godparents to Mic and Renee's son eleven months later.

Years ago, nobody predicted that Mic and Renee would have ended up together after their failed relationships with Mac and Harm.

They're happy together, however, and wouldn't change anything.
