Jason Michaels looked at his kids at they walked home from school one day. Nathan looked like he got into a fight and Sonia looked at him happy and sad at the same time.

"You okay Sonia?" He asked as she walked in. He usually wasn't home by now, but he left early. He had a soft spot for his eldest daughter.

"I'm fine I just made a friend today." puzzled he looked at her, wouldn't that be a good thing? She usually isn't that out spoken. When he first dropped her for preschool she wouldn't let go of his leg.

"Well lets eat dinner and you can tell me all about her after dinner."

********After Dinner*********

"Where did you meet her?"

"Between the tires and the swings. She's really pretty daddy, her hair is curly and blondish red. She's really nice and helps me in math class. But daddy Alyssa lies," she said trying very hard not to cry, but the tears threatening to cascade down her cheeks.

"She lies to everybody expect for me. She tries to cover up the bruise on her arm, and she lies to the class. I try to make her stop but she didn't listen to me." He crouched down and looked her into the eyes. She had inherited her mothers blue eyes and they were cloudy with tears.

"Come on lets go to bed and pray for alyssa too. Lets go to mommy and daddy's room okay?"

"God bless my mommy and daddy, my brother and my new friend Alyssa. I just know she needs you more than i do." Her mom looked at her curiously and patted her back.

"Come on Sonia, lets put you to bed. Nathan is already asleep." Her mom led her away and Jason fell into a sleep that was the worst in years.

"Jason what is that about Sonia's new friend?"

"She lies and tries to cover the bruise with lace," he said echoing his daughter only a few minutes later. Her mothers mind was spewing with images. One being her about 8 years old her uncle Bruce drunk and hitting her and she was protecting her brothers. Her parents away at a friends wedding. She jumped out of the bed leaving a sleepy Jason.

"Sonia, did alyssa give you her phone number?" The little girl nodded and mumbled some numbers in her sleep. Her mom thanked her and made a phone call.

*********monday*********

"Daddy where is alyssa she's usually here," Sonia looked at her father with questions in her eyes. The day had come since his wife made her mind up. How was he going to tell her she wasn't coming back? Its a good thing he didn't show up today to go to parents day.

"She's not coming back Sonia. Your not going to see her for a long time."

"Why?"

"Nobody would do anything. Lets go make you some friends and talk okay." Later dry tears was stained on her cheeks and a dark green rainbow monkey in her hands.

Lee was new at this school. He really didn't know anybody and there was this girl crying besides the sand box. No body was with her comforting her. Maybe she was new too. Hopeful he walked up to her, certain things running through his mind. Ajusting his hat and ready to show the girl his yo-yo he walked up to her.

"Hi my name is Lee Witherspoon. I'm new and I was wondering why you were crying." Her bright blue eyes was pretty as he looked into hers. Thoughts of conversations ran into his mind, vanished. Not really knowing this girl he hugged her.

"Are you okay?"

"I lost my friend, my daddy said i won't see her for a long time. I don't have any other friends then her. I'm shy and some kid made fun of me a couple of days ago." She looked down at her shoes and then at him.

"I'll be your friend," he declared to her. Holding her hand they walked over to the swing set.

A tad bit OCish then again there about 5 or 6 in this. Sonia the shy type i could see it happening.
