Izuku, a teenager with dark hair that appeared green, was walking home after his, questionable, friend, Katsuki used his quirk to damage one of his notebooks. A quirk is a special ability that 80% of the world population have, however, Izuku was a part of the 20% that didn't have one. It have been his dream for as long as he could remember, but without a quirk, the possibility of it becoming reality might as well be zero. Even his own mother didn't believe in him. 'Maybe I should give up on being a hero, I'll probably just get in the way'. Distracted by his thoughts, he didn't notice the black slime-like substance that was in his path. 'maybe I could be a police officer or...' Izuku paused when he thought he heard another voice.

'help' a voice that sounded like it came from his own head said.

"Where are you?" yelled Izuku, a little nervous.

'Below you' looking down, all Izuku saw was a puddle of black slime. 'That's me'

"You're the black slime? That's a weird, but useful quirk"

'What's a quirk?'

"How do you not know what a quirk is?" shouted Izuku in surprise.

'I'm not from this planet. I'm actually trying to get away' Izuku could feel the fear that the creature was feeling.

"what are trying to get away from?" asked Izuku, wanting to help.

'My species is known as Symbiotes, from the word symbiosis, and we need to attach to a living host to survive. We are a mostly peaceful race, but we are affected by who or what we attach to. Two symbiotes, calling themselves Venom and Carnage, were insane and destructive, causing many people to misjudge that every Symbiote was the same. They started hunting us in their fear'

"Why don't you attach to me?" offered Izuku.

'Why? you heard what my race is capable of'

"Yes, but I can't, in good conscience, leave someone when I know I could help" said Izuku with a smile. "Just one question. What do you need from me to survive?"

'Symbiote survive by feeding on the emotions of its host. you won't become a emotionless husk if you're worried'

"No, I was a bit nervous about what you may need"

'Well, I heard that Venom ate brains, so I can't blame you'

"I didn't need to know that. What I need to know is how we do this and how it may affect me," said Izuku as a shiver of disgust went down his spine.

'If we perform a true bond, I'll become a part of you. I'll be your quirk if what I see in your mind is true'

"Wait you can see into my mind"

'Yes. The other effect that will happen is that you'll start saying we or us instead of I or me'

"Weird, but you said you'll become my quirk. What would my abilities be?" asked Izuku, curious.

'you will get enhanced strength, speed and healing. along with that, you will get shape-shifting abilities'

"Is that all?" asked Izuku, not wanting to be surprise.

'That is all I know. You'll be my first, so I don't know if anything else will happen'

"So, how do we bond?"

'I'll do all the work. All you need to do is remain calm' said the Symbiote as it started wrapping around Izuku's body. Izuku tensed up for a little before he finally relaxed his body and let the Symbiote completely cover his body.

Izuku was walking home after an eventful evening. After bonding with the Symbiote, he was attacked by a slime villain, saved by All Might, discovered a secret about All Might and was told by All Might that a quirkless person couldn't be a hero. 'But you aren't quirkless anymore'

"Thanks to you, umm, what is your name?"

'Symbiotes do not process names'

"But what about Venom or Carnage?" asked a confused Izuku.

'They got their names from their hosts'

"So, do you want a name?"

'I don't really care. If it will make it easier for you, then go ahead'. Izuku was thinking of possible names for the Symbiote when he heard a commotion. Down the street, he saw a group of pro heroes around something and heard explosions.

"Why aren't they helping that poor kid?" Izuku heard a nearby civillian say.

"They can't. The villain doesn't seem to be affected by physical attacks and that kid is failing about with his quirk, so none of the heroes can get close," explained another person. Worried, Izuku looked toward the group of pro heroes and froze when he saw Katsuki trapped in the same villain that attacked him. Before he even realized what was happening, he was running forward with the Symbiote forming a suit around him. (Think black spiderman without signature eyes or spider symbol). He heard a couple pros telling him to stop, but he was only thinking about how this was his fault.

'If I didn't bother All Might, Kacchan would be safe'

'You couldn't have known this would happen' responded the Symbiote.

"Thanks," said Izuku as he threw the backpack at the villain, causing him to flinch when a book hit his eye. Reacting quickly, he grabbed Katsuki's arm and started pulling in an attempt to free his friend.

"Who are you?" asked Katsuki. This confused Izuku because he didn't realized that the Symbiote formed a suit for him. When he did, he had the Symbiote reveal his face. "Deku, what?"

"We'll explain everything later, but let's focus on saving you for now," said Izuku as he pulled harder.

"Go, Deku. you can't save me!" yelled Katsuki.

"Shut up!" shouted Izuku, surprising Katsuki. "You are a jerk, a bully and an all-around asshole, but one thing that you're not is a quitter. The Kacchan we know wouldn't give up this easily. We looked up to you for that. No matter the challenge in front of you, you would face it head on with unbelievable confidence. Now it's our turn to prove to you that we can do this". While he was talking to his friend, he didn't notice the slime monster about to attack him. Thankfully, All Might was there to save him. After being saved, Katsuki gave Izuku the usual treatment and walked off. Izuku, on the way home, heard something he have always wanted to hear from All Might of all people.

"You can be a hero," said All Might as he watched Izuku fall to his knees in tears. "That is why I have decided to choose you to inherit my quirk"

"What?" was the only response that Izuku could think of.

A/N: I'll be quick and explain a couple things about the symbiote. First, I know that Venom could turn invisible, but I don't know if that is an ability of all symbiotes or if he picked it up from another creature he bonded to. Second, this is also why Izuku won't have spider sense. He can mimic spiderman's web, but that is it. Right now, the symbiote is a blank slate with no other ability other than what I believe to be natural. If you don't like this, then leave. I won't bend over backward to make you happy.
