She walked slowly through the cold winter air, searching for the one tree. Their tree.
Snow covered the ground, making it treacherous as she walked over the hidden branches and tree roots. She knew it was around here somewhere.
At last, she stopped.
She could tell it was the same tree, but it is cold and dead. Dead, without him. Her eyes are foggy as she thinks back to what seemed like a million years ago.
Him, with his blond hair and pointed face. Sitting with her. Laughing, talking, kissing. The cherry blossoms fell from the trees and swirled around them, as they forgot about the world around them. The responsibility, the anger, the tears. That spring was the best of her life.
Her eyes stung with tears.
The scene of the cherry blossoms was gone, and replaced with another. Cherries were covering the tree, the tree they both sat in. Her with her wavy bronze hair glinting in the light, him with his sharp gray eyes. The scene was the same, and yet different. Like the cherries, they were they same, but different. They were better.
It was as though she watched the seasons change before her very eyes, and she was now standing in the Autumn air. He was there too, but instead of laughter they shared, it was anguish.
He shouted at her, she screamed in return. He turned away, and left her there to cry.
And now she was back, and the tree was dead. It had been sucked dry of the magic of their love, and left to die.
She placed a single flower at the bottom of the tree. A cherry blossom.
Authors note- This is my first ever written fan fiction, and it is for the Fruit challenge. If you couldn't tell (and I don't blame you) it is a Dramione story, because I simply love them. I hope I did well!
