Disclaimer: I don't own Supernatural.
Dean Winchester was a seemingly ordinary man. He worked in his father's garage during the week and on the weekends hung out with friends shooting the breeze. He also had a steady girlfriend who he loved. On Sunday's he would have brunch with his family and then he would do it all over again.
But Dean was not as ordinary as he appeared, he had some skeletons in his closet. There had been a house fire back when Dean was a kid and it had killed his six-month-old brother, Sam. He had only been four years old when it had happened. He remembered the fire, and how hot it had been. He remembered how his father told him to leave the house while he got mom and Sammy. Dean didn't know what happened after that, all he knew was his Mom and Dad had come out without Sammy.
There was something that he had never told anyone, especially his parents, because he was afraid of what they would say. What he didn't tell them was that he often had dreams, dreams there were more like nightmares . Dreams of his brother. How he would look like grown up. His dreams portrayed him as very tall, strong and with a brown mop of hair.
In his dreams he would call him Sammy and Sammy would tell Dean to call him Sam. In his dreams they would drive in their father's impala listening to rock music. In his dreams Sam would complain about his music. In his dreams Sam was the smart one and Dean played with all the girls. In his dreams they were close and knew each other more then anyone else. In his dreams Sam was strong, passionate, caring, and had a sort of innocence Dean tried his hardest to protect.
Unfortunately that wasn't all. There were bad things too. There were monsters, horrible monsters. Monster that ripped off body parts and ate them. Monster who killed people just for fun. Monsters that were transparent and you had to shot with rock salt. Sometimes the monsters were chasing them, trying to kill them. More often they were chasing the monsters trying to kill them. But the monsters weren't what made them nightmares. The nightmare was waking up and realizing that his brother wasn't there. That Sammy was dead and had been for a long time.
The End
Author Note: How was that? Overdone? Underdone? Stupid? Review please and tell me what you think.
