Chapter 1
The rain beat down on the car unmercifully as I drove up as far as the road went. The cement turned to dirt as I reached the end of the city road limits. As I continued down the dirt road I couldn't help but wonder how long it would take for someone to notice I was gone. Probably a couple days, give or take. No matter, I would be dead soon anyways...
The road finally ended abruptly into the forest of the cliff side. I thought about putting my jacket back on but drove the thought from my mind. What would it matter anyways? I got out of the car and began the hike to the top, the wind stinging my face. I continued walking, getting soaked in the process as I reached the edge of the cliff. All I could see was the blue-grey hue of the ocean and sky as the rain flew into my eyes. I took another step forward, both feet now hung over the side as I took one last breath.
Goodbye...
I stepped forward one last time. Hitting the water with a smack, I closed my eyes and let myself be pulled under.
...\o/...
I pulled my hoodie closer as the rain continued to fall. I wasn't cold, just a little damp. Then again I didn't mind it too much, it was days like this that I knew I could be alone. As I walked along the beach I spotted something down towards the cliffside. At first I thought it was a large clump of seaweed that had washed up on shore; but as I got closer I saw that it wasn't that at all.
Instead, I saw a human body.
I broke into a sprint, running up to the body. A woman, dressed almost entirely in black clothing, a tiny soaked figure, lying face down in the sand. I carefully turned her over, brushing the teal and black shoulder length hair away from her face. She was, to be honest, admittedly beautiful. Full lips, half of the blue lipstick washed away, pale, winter white skin. Though I couldn't be sure if she was naturally that pale or if it was just from the current condition she was in.
This could have been an easy target for me, but I really didn't have it in me to do it. I've been trying to control myself more anyways.
I felt at her wrist checking for a pulse; nothing. Working quickly, I tilted her head slightly and pressed my lips to hers, blowing air into her lungs. She remained unresponsive. I pumped my hands down on her chest, trying to push more water out of her. I repeated those steps about two more times until she finally coughed, water squirting out of her mouth. She was breathing again, but remained unconscious.
"Upsy daisy." I said picking her up into my arms. Her weight wasn't much of a burden, even under normal standards she'd be easy to carry. I finally reached my car, loading her into the passenger seat putting my spare coat overtop of her as I buckled her in. She remained asleep the whole way back to my house. I carried her cold body up to the spare bedroom and wrapped her up in a few blankets. She felt so damn cold.
And now I play the waiting game.
Short? Yes. But it is just the beginning, it's meant to be a sort of teaser for the rest of the story. By the way, anytime you see this - ...\o/... in this story, that means it has switched points of view. Don't worry, it won't be too hard to know who's who, unless I introduce a new character at some point. And hey just tell me what you think of the start.
For the future; Dawn and Courtney will be featured in this story! :D What roles will they play and when will I introduce them? You'll find out eventually I guess... ;) Review.
