The fresh scent of the ocean filled my nose and enchanted my mind as I gazed upon the deep, blue ocean. The boat rocked gently on the steady waves, carrying it to wherever it wishes. Dolphins dove in and out of the vast pool of water, creating ripples in the waves as the twisted and turned. All was calm and peaceful. This was paradise. But someone just had to destroy the tranquility.

"Angela! Angela, wake up!" I heard Jessica yell and then seconds later I found myself face to face with the floor. I groaned. "What?" I said grumpily, rubbing the back of my head as I sat up.
"Chiron has an important announcement to make." She explained. I stared blankly at my bronze haired friend. Was she serious? She woke me up for something she could've told me about later. "You could tell me later Jess, I'm tired."
"Not really. Chiron wants us all to be there. It's very important. Follow me."

I followed Jessica out to the Big House. She was right. Everyone was there. "Oh my gods, Angela! A new activity! I'm so excited!" her hazel eyes widened with excitement as she spoke to me.
"Yeah. A new activity. Cool." I said.
"You okay?"
"Yeah. Why?
"You don't seem yourself today."
"Oh no. I'm fine. Don't worry about it."
She me a weird look and the stared straight ahead as Chiron stepped out of the Big House onto the patio.

Chiron was, well, a centaur. His human half was that of strong, muscular man with a few abs. His face was covered with a neat, furry beard and his gorgeous chocolate eyes gazed upon us with love and care. However, deep within those eyes was sadness of the many demigods this camp has lost and also, many centuries of wisdom shone through. His hair flowed to his chin in tiny chestnut curls. His other half extended into the graceful and strong body of an ivory white stallion.

Beside him stood Mr. D, or Dionysus, the god of wine, parties and something else I prefer not to mention. He is also our camp director. He was quite short – about my height – who always wore leopard print shirts and purple trousers. His hair was short, untidy and raven black in color with irises of flaming violet. And as usual, Dionysus' face was bored and grumpy – just like mine at the moment.

"Attention all my dear demigods," Chiron called out in a deep, solemn voice and all at once, everyone went silent. "Dionysus and I have decided to establish a new activity. We've put a lot of thought into it and planned it carefully. This new activity is call the Hunger Games, a game of survival, a game of death. Bear in mind that this may be the most dangerous activity you have engaged in at Camp Half-Blood. Also, it only be an annual event where demigods will be chosen at random. Tonight at seven, we shall meet here again so I can explain the rules to you. You may resume whatever you have been doing earlier," he turned to leave. "And may the gods be ever in your favor." He added before disappearing into the Big House.

May the gods be ever in your favor. The words just kept on ringing in my ears. What on earth did that mean? "Angela, don't you want to go to sleep again?" Jess asked.
"Yeah I was just getting there. See ya!" I waved and made a dash to Apollo cabin and straight to my bed. I fell asleep rather quickly, dreaming of the deep ocean once again.
