Rating: K+
Genre: Friendship/Romance
Pairing: Sirius/Remus
Warning: /
Summary: Just a short look at how the four elements - Earth, Water, Air and Fire - are represented in Sirius and Remus' relationship. Oneshot.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything Harry Potter related (well, I did buy the books and various Lego Harry Potter stuff, but that doesn't really count) and I make no money writing this.
A/N: I just came up with the idea yesterday, and I had to write it! It's kinda short, but it's really only supposed to be small scenes taken from various points in their relationship. First one is Sirius' POV, then Remus', then Sirius' once again and in the end again Remus'. Hope you like it! :)
Four Parts Of A Whole

Earth
There was hardly anything certain in Sirius Black's world. His family had never approved of him and every year he came back for the holidays he didn't know if it would be the last time; if finally, they were sick of him and kicked him out. He changed his girlfriends like other people smoked cigarettes. People would love him one day and hate him the next.
Fortunately, there was one thing in his life that was always the same and would never change: his friends. With James, Remus and Peter he could let loose his wild side, he could live into the uncertainty and make the world the chaos that was in his head. But sometimes, Sirius went a bit over the top. His life resembled chaos so much that sometimes, it was too much; too much even for himself. He went on and on in circles and was so agitated he made himself go crazy. At these times, there was always only one person who could reach him, who could bring him back down to earth and let him feel their even calm: warm, peaceful, reliable Remus.
Water
In their third year, his friends had confronted Remus with their knowledge of his monthly transformations. He had panicked and told them they were being ridiculous, but of course, they had seen through his pathetic attempts to hide the truth. In the end, it had all turned out well: he hadn't lost a single friend, but gained three best friends in the process; the most perfect ones he could imagine.
That night, he first glimpsed the hidden sensitive part of Sirius. Remus had been surprised when the other boy approached him silently and joined him at the window; he hadn't thought he was still awake. But he found himself even more surprised when Sirius didn't make a joke about the situation, but asked him with genuine sympathy what the worst part about being a werewolf was – and after not too long, he had found himself in a profound, meaningful conversation with the other boy, loosing himself in his depths completely.
Air
What he marvels most about Remus is how everything seems to be so easy with him. He doesn't have to explain himself; he doesn't have to watch his every step closely; he doesn't need to control himself – he can simply be. Everything comes naturally to him, and he feels as light as a bubble, or maybe as light as air.
Fire
He remembers. He remembers the worst and best day of his life as if he was there today. He remembers how Sirius' betrayal felt as though someone burned him from the inside. He remembers Snape starting to insult him, to tell him all the things he had silently thought himself all those years. He remembers how it felt to hear it from someone else; how easy it suddenly seemed to hate himself. But what he remembers most about that day are Sirius' remorseful eyes upon witnessing all this: the fierce loyalty in them that instantly set Remus' world on fire.
Fin
"So which one was your favourite?", the cute little blue button asks the dear readers. "Just push me lightly and then you can tell me and make my day (and Cya's as well)!"
And I totally agree. :)
