Hermione launched forward to grab his elbow,

"Don't do this, please, please, don't do this—"

He shrugged her off and threw her to the ground, barely breaking his stride as he continued forward. She drew her wand and pointed it at his back while getting to her feet again, barely a nano-second elapsing before he spun round to face her, shouting,

"Protego!"

She was knocked back several feet, landing painfully on her spine, the breath wrung from her, failing to inhale for several agonising seconds. She drew herself up once again, still winded but manic with getting to him once again.

"Bombarda Maxima!"

Again, Snape deflected the spell, this time not even turning to her. Frustrated and distraught, she stood still, reeling from the sense of futility, the despondency encircling her entire being as the dark wizard strode away from her, unyielding, unmoved, unanswering, and felt tears of rage begin to spill.

"You coward! You bloody FRAUD! You liar, you LIAR, Snape!" she bellowed after him, using all the force of breadth and anger she had left in reserve. Keeping her eyes on his tall, black figure, she sank to her knees and began sobbing in great heaving gasps, spent of all impetus to move, of all fury and hope, and consumed only by heart-splitting panic and fear.

He was gone.
