Silence

I knew she was going to try to be strong but I heard the way her voice squeked that she was one emotion away from blowing up the city.

Rachel was a pretty girl, not beautiful like her best friend Cory, but certainly not ugly either. Her medium length black hair was streaked with violet and gave her a unique look and deeply contrasted against her pail face. She was strong, emotionally and physicly. She was funny and smart and nobody could tell her what to do.

Personally, I prefer her best friend Cory. She was a tall popular cheerleader with stunning emerald eyes and long red hair that gave her an exotic look that Rachel never had.

Cory was the reason I went for Rachel the two were inseparable. What Cory like Rachel like and vice- versa. I knew I couldn't get Cory, she was dating someone else at the time. But word had just gotten out that Cory and Roy broke up and that's when I realized that now was my chance.

I knew it would happen at first, the dumping part I mean. Someone like me just doesn't get someone like him. But as days became months I started to think that he really liked me, loved me even. I was actually happy. Until now. Just a few minutes ago my life shattered into a million tiny pieces, along with my heart. I thought he was perfect, with his shaggy black hair and deep blue eyes, not to mention his great sense of humor. He was the first guy to make me feel less…..freakish.

Just then my cell phone vibrated, I didn't recognize the number.

*****: you ok? Is all it said

RachelRoth:…..who is this?

*****: one of Rob's friends.

RachelRoth: oh.

*****: ya… so like I asked, you ok???

RachelRoth: have I ever been ok?

*****:what do you mean?

RachelRoth: don't I seem…weird to you? Who are you anyway?

*****:my name's Gar Logan, I'm in your English class.

She remembered him now. He was a jokester with blonde hair and deep green eyes, one of Robin, I mean Rob's best friends

RachelRoth:oh.

GarLogan: ya… I don't think your weird I think your different in a good way

RachelRoth: oh. Thanks. I think.

GarLogan:yep, hey I gtg see ya in English.

RachelRoth: ya see ya…

whew…

he had finally gotten up the nerve to text her. He had liked he for a while now but since she was dating his best friend there wasn't much he could do about that. He felt bad for her he had known from day one that Rob only wanted her because of Cory and was just using her just to get a chance at her.

I don't see why he thought Rachel was so bad. I mean I thought she was drop dead gorgeus with her streaky black and purple hair , and those eyes…you could get lost in those eyes. Trust me I have. And I took all of my brain not to texty her back saying those exact same words when she asked if she was weird. I just want to grab her and hug her and kiss her until all the pain Rob had put on her went away, and someday, someday soo, he will.
