"Hello?" A dark red haired girl answered her home phone.
"Is this Min Martel the famous detective?" The caller definitely a teenaged girl asked hopeful.
"Yes, now what can I do for you?" Min asked as she closed The Valley of Fear by Conan Doyle she had been reading.
"I have a job for you if you want to accept it that is." The girl said cautiously. Min quirked an eyebrow in interest.
"Alright I'll hear you out, do you have a time and place we could meet to talk about this is person?" Min asked holding the cordless phone between her head and shoulder as she walked over to a shelf in her library to put her book away as she played with her necklace.
"Sunday at 1:00pm I'm free, but as for the place I can't do it at my house people could hear and I don't want anyone to know." The girl said quickly. Min stood her hand resting on the book she had just pushed back into its place the other holding the phone in shock.
"Alright well I suppose we could meet at my home." Min said lowering her hand as she glanced out one of the large windows in the large round two story library.
"Really is that alright?" The girl asked a bit worried.
"Yes it's quite alright miss. I'll meet you at the train station I live in Tokyo." Min chuckled absent mindedly playing with her long dark red haired braid she pulled over her shoulder. There was a muffled voice of a teenaged boy on the other end.
"KAITO I'M ON THE PHONE BE QUIET! I'm so sorry I have to go now, I'll see you Sunday." With that the girl hung up after nearly blowing Min's ear drum. Min looked at the phone in question but shrugged and set it back on the receiver before going to make dinner. As she was making dinner the phone rang again. She sighed and looked at the time silently wondering who was calling.
"Hello?" Min asked once again holding the phone between her head and shoulder as she stirred what she was cooking.
"Ano, is this Min Martel?" A different teenaged girl asked.
"Yes this is she. How can I help you?" Min asked sighing mentally.
"There is a job I would like you to do and it's going to be hard." This girl said.
"Alright I'll hear you out is there somewhere and sometime I could meet with you, cause I have a feeling that this is something that should be discussed face to face." Min said.
"Is Sunday, 1:30pm at the cafe under Mori Detective Agency alright?" The girl asked.
"Sunday is fine and so is the place but I have another meeting would it be a bother if we moved the time to 2:00pm?" Min asked.
"No that won't be a problem I'll see you Sunday. Ja ne." The girl said hanging up but not before another girl's muffled voice came. Min sighed and looked at the phone. What is she going to do two possibly different jobs she might not be able to pass up at the same time.
Sunday came and nothing interesting happened, no murders, no call from the police asking help just strangely not normal. Around noon Min walked towards the train station stopping every so often as though someone was watching her. Min looked behind her green eyes scanning the crowd and buildings, not seeing anyone she continued to her destination. She got there a little after one since she took the long way around effectively losing the person who was trailing her. There was a girl standing by the exit that seemed to be waiting for someone, so Min walked up to her.
"Hello, you seem to be waiting for someone who might that be?" Min asked the messy brown haired girl.
"I'm waiting for Min Martel do you know her?" The girl responded. Min looked at the girl from head to toe, gauging if the girl is the one who almost blew her ear drum.
"You're waiting for the detective? If I may who are you?" Min asked. The girl blushed in embarrassment.
"My name is Aoko Nakamori, and yes I'm waiting for the detective." Aoko said with a huff.
"Well, it looks like your waiting is over. I'm Min Martel it's nice to meet you Aoko-chan." Min smiled in greeting.
