How to Write a Fan Fiction
A fan fiction (usualy refered to as FanFic) is a fictional story writen by a fan about an actor, singer, book, movie, cartoon, tv show, etc... etc...
It can be any of several catagories including, Action/Adventure, Romance, Drama, Supernatural, Horror, and (my favorite) Slash, as long as it has the proper disclamer (ex. I don't own Louis, David, Daniel, or any other characters that I might have used in this story. I'm just a poor student writer trying to have fun.)
In order to write a good FanFic you, first of all, need to pick the movie, band, etc... that you are writing about and figure out what you want to happen to them.
Let's take Great Expectations as an example. Taking Pip and Estella and writing a story about what might have happened if they got married and moved to Rio, would be a neat topic for a fic.
Second you need to decide if you want yo use the Estella from the book or make up a new personality for the girl and just use her looks and back ground. You could make her totaly different from the Estella we know or you could make her the same cold hearted girl this entire english class know soo well.
Third it has to have something that makes it stick out from other FanFics. A twist, you might say.
Last but not least, you need to find a place to display your final creation. WWW.FanFiction.net is a cool place. It has over 7 Million fics already and over 57 thousand writers, but any privet or public owned site will work.
Remember, that when reading/writing FanFics, you must always follow the Author Rules. Be polite to the other writers by reading and reviewing thier stories/fics as well.
